A Spanish population study of 17 Y-chromosome STR loci

Haplotype, allele frequencies and population data of 17 Y-chromosome STR loci DYS19, DYS385, DYS389I, DYS389II, DYS390, DYS391, DYS392, DYS393, DYS437, DYS438, DYS439, DYS460 (GATA A7.1), DYS461 (GATA A7.2), GATA A10, GATA C4 and GATA H4 were determined from a sample of 148 unrelated male individuals from Spain. A total of 144 haplotypes were identified by the 17 Y-STR markers, of which 141 were unique, two were found in two individuals and one was found in three individuals. The haplotype diversity (99.95%) and discrimination capacity (97.30%) were calculated. Comparisons were made with previously published haplotype data on other Iberian population samples and no significant differences were found.     

Population data of nine Y-chromosomal STR loci in northern Poland

Allele and haplotype frequencies of nine Y-chromosome STR loci were determined from a sample of 508 unrelated males from north Poland. Three samples containing insertion polymorphism DYS19 (duplication) and DYS385I/II (triplications) were observed.     

Population genetics of nine STR loci from Baoan population in NW China

Allele frequencies for the nine short tandem repeat (STR) loci (D3S1358, FGA, TH01, D7S820, VWA, CSF1PO, D5S818, D13S317, TPOX) were determined in a sample of 120 unrelated individuals of the Baoan ethnic group living in northwest China. The values of observed heterozygosity (H), discrimination power (DP), a priori chance of exclusion (CE) and polymorphism information content (PIC) were calculated. All loci were in accordance with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (P=0.05). The obtained frequency distributions were compared with other previously reported population data.

Allele frequencies for nine short tandem repeats (STR) loci: D3S1358, vWA, FGA, TH01, TPOX, CSF1PO, D5S818, D13S317 and D7S820 were determined in a Japanese population using the AmpFlSTR Profiler PCR amplification kit (Applied biosystems).
