社会结构类型与“混混”生存的社会基础——一项基于社会人类学的比较分析

在宗族、小亲族、分配型经济和高度地域认同等类型的社会结构基础上，村庄具有拒斥“混混”的能力。在核心家庭至上、有关系弱组织、户族以及宗族急剧衰落的社会结构基础上，村庄拒斥“混混”的能力则弱得多。抑制“混混”的根本之策是在新农村建设中提升村民的合作能力和组织化程度。

随着1997年英国工党赢得大选并上台执政,所谓的"第三条道路"曾风靡一时.虽然英国学者吉登斯把工党的胜利和第三条道路的提出看作是社会民主主义复兴的标志,但事实上,由于资本主义生产方式的改变,由于内部社会结构和国际条件的变化,英国工党已经完全背离了传统的社会民主主义.由于仅仅局限于在现存制度框架内的修修补补,所谓的"第三条道路"事实上充其量只能算作是一种"社会自由主义".     

Social Responsibility in the Concept of the Social Enterprise as a Cognitive System

Abstract

The new concept of social responsibility is strongly linked to the idea of the social enterprise as a living system, that is, a system capable of regenerating itself by producing “knowledge” and “trust” resources. Nevertheless, these resources can only spring from a tight relationship with the reference environment in which the enterprise operates. This paper aims at making some first considerations on the relationship between social responsibility and the environment, and upon how the environment may develop in symbiosis with the “living company.”

Islamism and Social Movement Theory

There is a new, but still limited, realisation that the perspectives developed by the ‘social movement theory’ can be useful to illuminate aspects of Islamist movements. This is a welcome development. Yet it is also pertinent to point to some limitations of the prevailing social movement theories (those grounded in the technologically advanced and politically open societies) to account for the complexities of sociopolitical activism in contemporary Muslim societies, which are often characterised by political control and limited means for communicative action. The article argues for a more fluid and fragmented understanding of social movements, which may better explain the differentiated and changing disposition of such movements as Islamism. In this context, I propose the concept of ‘imagined solidarities’, which might help illustrate modes of solidarity building in such closed political settings as the contemporary Muslim Middle East.     

How Social Movements Do Culture

While much social science literature has analyzed the cultural bases of social movement, activity, and the content of cultural production by social movements, relatively little has been written about the concrete social relations within which social movements do culture. This paper addresses the issue of what social movements are doing when they produce culture. Four dimensions of social relations within which culture is enacted are identified: the division of labor, the relations of power, tuning in, and embeddedness. A contrast between the how the People's Songsters Movement of the 1930s and 1940s and the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s used American folk music illustrates how variation in these dimensions affects the effects that cultural production had on social movement outcomes.

American public administration as a field is “mature” in terms of its identity, roles, knowledge, and open-system nature. Yet it lacks maturity in the sense of an adequate sense of self-worth. This “inferiority complex” is revealed by the field's obsession with two intertwining, persistent themes: a perceived state of societal illegitimacy and of permanent need for reform.
