Current population trends in the USSR are reviewed, with particular reference to data available from the 1981 census. Topics considered include regional demographic variations, ethnic fertility differentials, the effects of deteriorating health care, and the continuation of Islamic cultural influences. The political and economic consequences of current demographic trends are discussed.

1917年的俄国十月革命和1989-1991年的苏联解体可能是20世纪欧洲历史上最重大的事件,它对欧洲劳工运动产生了巨大而深远的影响.这对其邻国,即最受马克思主义影响、并组织得最好的德国工人运动产生了很大的冲击.德国工人运动的最早理论家和发言人是罗莎·卢森堡.1917年的十月革命,这一预示着残酷的一战结束的伟大历史事件,向每一位社会主义者发出了号召,各就各位,准备战斗.但是曾经积极支持帝国主义战争的德国社会党右翼领导人却严厉地反对俄国革命,并反对德国共产主义者追随布尔什维克的尝试.     

公民权利与苏联演变

苏联公民权利的总体状况,可概括归结为以下5大特征:其一,公民权利的总量不断增多;其二,公民权利的质量不断改善;其三,发展中存在不均衡的现象;其四,社会权利兑现得比较好;其五,政治权利的实现差强人意.随着社会结构和公民需求的变化,苏联人民的民主要求与僵化的苏联政治体制的矛盾不断加深,最终构成为推动苏联演变的重要因素之一.     

Taiwan and the Soviet Union during the Cold War

Taking into account recently published evidence on Taiwan's relations with the Soviet Union during the Cold War, this article examines the official and secret contacts between Moscow and Taipei from 1949 to 1988. It argues that despite some consideration given to a possible cooperation, Cold War hostility suited Taiwan and the Soviet Union more than collaboration. Taipei resorted to the ‘Soviet card’ in the 1970s to hinder Sino–American rapprochement, but never abandoned anti-Sovietism as the foundation of its diplomacy. The Soviet Union, for its part, prioritized normalization of relations with China and avoided rapprochement with the ROC, which could have only further strained ties with the PRC and accelerated the formation of the Sino–US united front against Moscow.
