从国际关系作为一门学科在西方诞生以来,宗教一直是被西方国际关系理论界所长期忽视、边缘化甚至放逐的研究对象,然而,在当今国际政治和国际关系中,宗教日益成为跨地区和跨国界现象。自冷战结束以来,世界上几乎所有的重大事件或多或少均有宗教的背景和动因,因此不重视宗教就无法理解国际关系。     

当代国际关系中的文化博奕

在人类社会跨入新千年之际,国际关系错综复杂。世界形势变化多端。各国正在根据自身利益和所处环境不断制定和调整发展战略。经济、科技、军事、文化等都是其战略考虑的基本因素。在综合国力的激烈竞争中,文化因素的影响和文化力量的运用已成为不可或缺的手段。不同文化的矛盾运动对国际关系的演变产生了重大作用。     

全球化对当代国际关系的影响

人类社会的全球化进程始于近代资本主义的对外扩张 ,西方资本主义国家在全球化的发展过程中始终扮演了推动者的作用。全球化的发展透视出一个以经济为中心 ,逐步向政治、文化等领域扩散的发展态势。西方国家在推动全球化发展的过程中 ,利用其资本、技术、信息和组织的优势 ,一直谋求把资本主义的经济模式、政治制度、价值观念和西方文化推向全球 ,构建西方发达国家主导的世界秩序。     

中国现代国际关系研究院举办"非洲学术周"活动

为促进非洲问题的研究 ,2 0 0 4年 12月 14～ 17日 ,中国现代国际关系研究院在北京举办了“非洲学术周”活动。此次学术周活动共有下列 4项内容。(一 )座谈会　 12月 14日 ,举行了学术周的开幕式和座谈会。出席会议的有 :外交部和中联部的官员、中国社会科学院、国务院发展研究     

全球市民社会与当代国际关系(上)

全球市民社会是 2 0世纪 80年代以来人们在应对日益严重的全球性危机、克服日益突显的全球化弊端以及探寻冷战后世界新秩序的重建过程中迅速兴起的。自产生之日起 ,其在经济与社会、国际和平与安全及环境人权等国际政治领域的活动和网络密度就不断增强。全球市民社会的兴起及其广泛活动对于推动国际关系朝着整体化、民主化、法治化和多中心的方向发展具有重要作用 ,同时 ,它也意味着国际政治中伦理价值的回归。当然 ,目前全球市民社会对国际关系的影响还只是一种趋势 ,其作用的充分发挥有赖于在自身能力建设、民主化建设和管理制度等方面的不断完善。此外 ,发展中国家还要大力推动自身社会力量的发展 ,以防止全球市民社会成为西方的意识形态和霸权工具。     

国际关系格局的调整与拉美对外关系的变化

随着全球化深入发展、新兴发展中大国崛起以及伊拉克战争和金融危机对美国霸权的冲击,当前国际关系格局正发生深刻的变化.     

Sport and International Relations

As China takes center stage for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in August, enthusiasm for the Games extends far beyond the capital city. For Chinese, the Olympics is about national pride and cultural legacy. The Chinese government hopes to make this event a morale booster for the development of the whole country. And for the world, the Olympics is not just a global sporting event, but also an important platform for promoting worm harmony and communication between cultures. As editor of Contemporary International Relations, I am mindful of the connection between sport and international relations. Sport today plays a highly significant role in the world, and the impact of this global phenomenon on international relations is often underestimated.     

拉丁美洲国家对外关系的变化与调整

在2009年拉美国家对外关系的变化与调整中,值得关注的问题有以下几个方面. 一美国对拉美政策的调整及美拉关系 奥巴马的政治及少数族裔背景、多边主义的主张、奉行变革外交和改善美拉关系的承诺令拉美国家对奥巴马上台后的美拉关系充满期待.     

论当代拉美与非洲关系的发展

拉丁美洲和非洲在历史上的交往和双方种族与文化的交流奠定了拉美—非洲关系发展的基础。目前,拉美—非洲关系的发展已初步形成一套框架体系,在拉美—非洲地区层面上,已经形成如"南美—非洲国家首脑会议"等定期性的制度性对话和合作平台。在此基础上,双方国家间关系的发展成为推动拉美—非洲关系取得实质性进展的重要力量,双方的合作集中在政治、经济和科技领域。不过,拉美—非洲关系无论是在战略定位上,还是在经贸水平和合作的地域范围上都有进一步拓展的空间。     

“中非关系与当今世界”研讨会综览

2008年10月15-18日,由中国非洲史学会主办、山西大学和山西省高校师资培训中心承办的"中非关系与当今世界"学术研讨会在山西太原召开,来自内地和香港共40多家单位的专家学者、政府官员、经济界人士、援非志愿者以及在华非洲友人等总计200多人参加了此次研讨会.研讨会以主会与分会的形式次第展开,呈现出中国非洲研究的多维度、多面向特点.     

Domestic Politics and International Relations

In reviewing the history of portions of international studies I reflect on how we might best advance knowledge. I dwell on two issues: questions of method and the urgency of refocusing our efforts on leaders and domestic affairs as the centerpiece for understanding the world of international relations. I argue that scientific progress is best made by combining three methodological approaches in our research: formal, mathematical logic to ensure internal consistency in arguments about complex and contingent relations among variables; case studies and archival research to evaluate verisimilitude between theory and action; and statistical analysis to establish the generality of the hypothesized relations among variables. Often such methodologically diverse and progressive research will best be accomplished by encouraging collaboration rather than by perpetuating the current norm of penalizing co-authorship especially among junior scholars. I offer concrete examples of advances in knowledge achieved through the employment of mathematical reasoning and statistical analysis as many have cast doubts about the substantive contributions of these particular approaches. My perspective is, of course, personal and may not be shared by many others. I set out my thoughts, therefore, with the hope that they will stimulate constructive debate and dialogue and that they will serve to integrate diverse approaches to international affairs.

Playing Games with International Relations

After reviewing the advantages and disadvantages in using simulations to teach International Relations, this paper develops pedagogy for using simulations to teach International Relations (IR) theory. After discussing methods for integrating simulations into a class on IR theory the paper then goes on to present three simulations and the theories that they can be used to teach. The three simulations are the Classical Realism Game, Prisoner's Dilemma to the N th degree, and Diplomacy. Finally, the three simulations are compared.     

Taiwan in International Economic Relations

As President Tsai Ing-wen assumes power, she faces a citizenry hoping that she can revitalize Taiwan's economy, including: promoting high growth, low unemployment, equitable distribution of income, affordable housing for working people, food safety and quality of life in a democratic country. They also expect that she will not be deterred from engaging in the international arena. However, President Tsai faces several challenges amid slowing growth in much of the world, and Taiwan's partial exclusion from the international economic order will affect prospects for her success in meeting expectations for further economic progress.
