China and the Changing World --Summary of the International Seminar in Commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the CICIR

China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations （CICIR） hosted an international symposium on China and the Changing World on September 4-5, 2010 to commemorate its 30th anniversary. Four panel discussions were held on China-U.S. relations, the emerging powers, China-Europe relations and Asia-Pacific cooperation. China and the Changing World

A time comparison is necessary for analyzing the changes that have taken place in international relations. The September 11 attacks took place in 2001, hence the need for a comparison of the situation before and after the events. Here we mean the time starting from the end of the Cold War to the present. I would like to make a comparison of the differences in the international situation in 1992-2000 and thereafter. First, I will make some comments about the changes in the features of the state players, international structure, international rules and major contradictions in the world. I will then attempt to analyze Chinese foreign policy.

from the beginning of 2014, the international order has undergone some quite dramatic changes in several parts of the world. The Ukrainianpolitical crisis has gradually evolved into a U.S.-Russia confrontation two decades after the end of the Cold War. In the Middle East, the extremist group, the Islamic State of Iraq and Al Sham （ISIS） invaded Iraq, gaining much territory in the north of the country.

发展中国家是推动国际格局多极化、国际关系民主化、建立公正合理的国际政治、经济新秩序的重要力量,是具有丰富资源、广阔市场、推动世界经济增长的重要力量,解决全球性问题离不开发展中国家的参与,发展中国家的国际地位越来越重要。但是,发展中国家面临的困难和问题也很多。国际格局变化使发展中国家处境艰难,南北差距拉大,发展中国家之间发展也不平衡,拉大了它们经济上的差距。作为发展中国家的一员,中国重视发展同广大发展中国家之间的关系,双方互相尊重、互相支持、团结合作、共同发展。发展中国家是中国外交的重要依托,中国同它们的关系会越来越密切。

A New Landscape in China-U.S. Relations--In Commemoration of the 30^th Anniversary of The Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and the United States

Since January 1st, 1979 when Sino-American diplomatic relations were established, the relationship has experienced a dynamic 30 years. In these 30 years, the international situation has changed dramatically and there have been major changes in both China and America. Sino-American relations are like a turbulent river that passes through deep valleys and hidden shallows, both mighty and stunning.
