University technology transfer activities are increasingly important as a source of regional economic development and revenue for the university. We use regression analysis, a two-stage model and the most recent data to examine the determinants of technology transfer. Our analysis strongly support four factors, not previously examined in the literature, enhancing university technology transfer: greater rewards for faculty involvement in technology transfer, location of the university in a region with a concentration of high technology firms, a clear university mission in support of technology transfer and the experience of the university's technology transfer office.  相似文献

This study examines how university knowledge spills over into small technology-based firms in Japan. Estimated Heckman selection models taking into account the timing of university-industry research collaboration and geographical proximity to spillover pools reveal that cooperative research with universities positively affects R&D productivity of small technology-based firms with a three-year lag. Among small technology-based firms that collaborate with universities in research, firms with local ties have a greater advantage in improving the quality of their R&D personnel through the acquisition of complementary knowledge. Theoretical and policy implications of empirical results are discussed.  相似文献

This study considers the relationships between first-year law students' admission credentials, the amount of time they spend in study, and the grades they receive on examination. Findings include that there is a significant drop in effort during the first year, that while effort invested in study pays off in improved grades this effort is much less significant in explaining grades than is student ability as measured by LSAT and undergraduate grades, that students in the middle and bottom of the class are helped more by substantial study than are those in the top, that class attendance is much more valuable in raising grades than is equivalent time in other study, and that none of the various study techniques examined could be linked with major differences in results.  相似文献

大学教育作为传播和创造人类明的事业其精神和品格无疑是高贵且神圣的然而这种作为大学特征的高贵性和神圣性,在我们现实的大学中却显得淡薄且逐渐被疏远,而与此精神相悖的功利主义,庸俗风气则日见昌盛,这无疑显现了大学中存在着深重的精神危机,要使大学显现出自身就有的高贵性和神圣性,就就该让大学像个大学,而大学更像大学的基本途径,就是对大学与政府之间行政性隶属关系的解构和致力于大学地自主办学的新制度创造。  相似文献

无论在学理上还是在实践中,大学组织、制度与管理之间都紧密相关.论文选择组织内与组织间的双重视角,通过对组织、制度与管理三个概念内在相关性的深入探讨,从理论层面上揭示了大学组织、制度与管理之间的相关性.一般而言,组织是人有目的的集合,制度是约束人或组织的规则,而管理则是人在一定制度的约束下,通过分工与协调以实现组织目标的过程.大学组织、制度与管理之间的相关性同样符合上述逻辑.  相似文献
