体系·国家·社会·个体——中国外交的分析层次

在国际关系学科发展、中国学者的学术使命及民族关怀不断增强、中国外交现实政策需求的推动下,当代中国外交研究呈现出理论意识、主体性、规范性以及方法论意识等特点。笔者运用层次分析方法,把当代中国外交研究分为体系、国家、社会与个体四个分析层次,以此来考察中国外交研究领域的进展及存在的问题。笔者认为,理论多元主义、具体案例研究、实证主义与反思主义的并重,以及行为体与结构间互动,理应是当代中国外交研究进一步深入发展的重要环节。     

Remembering A Year of Anniversaries, 2015

2015 was a year of significant anniversaries and commemorations related to the Commonwealth, Magna Carta, World War II and the United Nations. In this article the author reflects on these events, on his personal participation and on the media coverage of the events.     

Drugs, Violence, and Development in Colombia: A Department-Level Analysis

Observers say that drug production fuels violence in Colombia, but does coca production explain different levels of violence? This article examines the relationship between coca production and guerrilla violence by reviewing national‐level data over time and studying Colombia by department, exploring the interactions among guerrilla violence, exports, development, and displacement. It uses historical analysis, cartographic visualization, and analysis of the trends in four high coca‐producing and four violent Colombian departments, along with a department‐level fixed effects model. Contrary to the conventional wisdom, the department‐level analysis suggests that coca production is not the driving force of contemporary Colombian guerrilla violence. Instead, economic factors and coca eradication emerge as prominent explanatory factors.     

A provocative event,media, and religious choice in post-Soviet Russia

This paper uses the famous events related to Pussy Riot as a natural experiment to examine the effect of alternative media on church membership. A difference-in-differences strategy is used to explore the effect in question. The hypothesis is that, given a lack of religious background in the majority of the population and strong temporary interest in religious issues promoted by a particular provocative event, mass media substantially affect religious choice. To check if this is the case, I compare the dynamics of religious choice of those exposed to alternative media reports on church topics and the rest of the population. As a proxy of familiarity with an alternative view, I use a dummy variable for using the Internet to obtain news. The main finding is that, during the experiment run over the year 2012, the growth of self-reported Orthodox believers was significantly lower in the treatment group than in the control group. Exposure to alternative media coverage turned out to heavily affect religious choice.

Indictments, Myths, and Citizen Mobilization in Argentina: A Discourse Analysis

Most accounts of the turmoil that shook Argentina in 2001–2 focused on the harmful impact of the financial environment, imprudent policymaking, and institutional weaknesses. These explanations paid little attention to the cultural frames and cognitive patterns that underlie the connection between civil society and political society. Based on a discourse analysis of Internet forums and presidential speeches, this article argues that the Argentine crisis cannot be fully grasped without considering the link between collective behavior and ingrained conceptions of national identity. The analysis finds that national myths and definitional questions of national purpose are key factors in the way citizens behave in the context of an economic and political crisis.     

A Theoretical Note on the Differences Between Attitudes,Opinions, and Values

This theoretical note examines the concepts attitude, opinion, and value. It is argued that such acquired behavioral pre-dispositions are re-lated but have different conceptual foci and tend to address different phenomena. Although it is important to recognize their interconnected-ness, their indiscriminate use is likely to lead to messy theoretical ar-guments and misleading interpretations of empirical findings. This ar-ticle discusses key-aspects that need to be considered in the study of at-titudes, opinions, and values, as well as the relations between these.     

中日韩技术创新能力的比较研究

从技术创新投入、技术创新产出、技术创新基础、技术创新效率方面对中日韩三国在2000年至2011年的技术创新能力进行了定量分析比较。研究发现日本的技术创新能力呈现出下降趋势，韩国的技术创新基础提高显著并且技术创新效率较高。我国的技术创新能力大幅度提高，技术创新投入和产出较高，但是技术创新基础还需要进一步提高。为中国的技术创新的持续性发展提供了一些政策性建议。
