As early as in the beginning of the 1980's,the Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAFIU) started exchanges with the Friendrich Ebert Stiftung (FES). Since FES set up its Beijing office in 1987,fruitful cooperation has been conducted between FES and CAFIU,and other relevant parties of the Chinese side. Report on China''s Latin America Policy

Latin America is the only underdeveloped region in the Western Hemisphere, and China is the largest developing country in the Eastern Hemisphere. Across the vast Pacific Ocean, the Chinese and the Latin American people have a history of nearly 500 years of exchanges. In order to further strengthen the people to people friendship between China and Africa, and to promote the exchanges among NGOs, a group from China NGO Network for International Exchanges visited Uganda and South Africa from March 29 to April 10, 2008.The group extensively contacted with the representatives and officials from the two countries＇NGOs.
