The Tibetan word "kidu" literally means sharing of prosperity and adversity. As a naturally formed order of nongovernmental mutual aid,kidu represents an evolution of customs,conventions and code of ethics in medium-sized and small communities in villages and towns in Tibet. The first regional ethnic autonomous prefecture in China
The People's Government of Xikang Tibetan Autonomous Region was founded on November 24, 1950.
