8月21日，由中华女子学院法律系和中华女子学院妇女人权研究中心联合主办的“就业性别岐视及其救济机制”国际研讨会在北京召开。来自中国人民大学、中华女子学院、中国社会科学院、最高人民法院及联合国妇女发展基金、哈佛大学等50余位中外学者出席了会议。

4月18日，由《人权》杂志社举办的“科学发展观与人权”理论研讨会在北京举行，来自中国社会科学院、中央党校、北京大学、中国人民大学、中国政法大学、空军指挥学院、中国人权研究会的10余名专家学者，就科学发展观的人权内涵、科学发展观与人权的关系、科学发展观对人权理论与实践的指导作用、人权建设纳入《“十一五”规划纲要》的意义等问题展开了讨论。

在对访谈资料和网络论坛生产日志进行分析的基础上,文章将“产妇怕疼”现象放置于文化、技术、权力、知识与医疗环境这一理论框架,从两个方面反驳了目前流行的“产妇怕疼导致剖腹产率升高”的论述。第一,不友善的医疗环境和过多的医疗介入加重产妇的疼痛和焦虑,可能会导致产妇对剖腹产的诉求,怕疼已经不仅仅是生理反应,还有技术与环境层面的原因,不应当仅仅指责产妇,还应该检视当今产科医疗环境及技术滥用。第二,怕疼的产妇最后是否会剖腹产,较多地取决于医院的等级及医生的态度立场。本文围绕这一主线进行讨论的同时,也呈现出中国产妇在生产过程中所受到的来自文化、技术、专业权威、科层制组织、城乡差异等方面的管理和控制。
