Starting from the position that performing arts entrepreneurship (PAE) deserves its own theoretical treatment in the literature, this article addresses fundamental questions within that subfield. The first step is to define PAE, necessarily incorporating the related concepts of “The Performing Arts Event Cycle” and the “Performing Arts Value Chain.” The question of why PAE takes place explores the motivations of performing arts entrepreneurs, looking beyond the traditional profit motive. Where PAE occurs is the next question, taking into account audiences, financial resources, available performance venues, and artistic inputs. The final two questions have to do with the timing of PAE, as well as who engages in this activity. Relevance to existing and future research is discussed, as are implications for practice.  相似文献

任何组织都是有生命周期的.组织目的的最终实现需要认识和利用生命周期发展规律.常规组织和任务型组织是两种重要的组织形式.目前关于公共组织的生命周期研究集中在常规组织上,而对处理非常规任务的任务型组织涉猎甚少.而且,对生命周期的研究只注重组织的设立而没有考虑组织的最终去向.反映在组织实践上,就是我们往往只关注组织的设立和组织的规范化与制度化,而没有对组织本身也会消亡这一规律有比较明确的认识.  相似文献

This study is the first comprehensive curricular comparison of graduate arts management programs in the United States. Its principal finding is that there exists considerable curricular convergence among arts management programs and that their differences may be exploited strategically. Through extensive curricular analysis and in-depth conversations with faculty, this study makes both conceptual and methodological contributions to the field—conceptual because it provides an empirical basis for the definition of arts management as a formal academic discipline in its own right and methodological because it proposes a framework to effect a systematic comparison of arts management program curricula.  相似文献

Although numerous theories suggest that voluntary organizations contribute to lower crime rates in neighborhoods, the evidence for this proposition is weak. Consequently, we propose a dynamic perspective for understanding the relationship between voluntary organizations and neighborhood crime that involves longitudinal analyses and the measurement of the age of organizations. By using longitudinal data on a sample of census blocks (N = 87,641) located across 10 cities, we test the relationship between age‐graded measures of different types of voluntary organizations and neighborhood crime rates. We use fixed‐effects negative binomial regression models that focus on change within neighborhoods of the relationship between voluntary organizations and neighborhood crime. Our results show that although each type of voluntary organization is found to exhibit crime‐reducing behavior in neighborhoods, we find that many of them are consistent with what we refer to as the “delayed impact scenario”—there is a pronounced delay between the placement of a voluntary organization and a neighborhood subsequently experiencing a reduction in crime. With protective effects of organizations typically not demonstrated until several years after being in the neighborhood, these patterns suggest a need for long‐term investment strategies when examining organizations.  相似文献

The 2008 recession was accompanied by a wave of technological, social, and other changes. In its wake, arts advocates find themselves on a changed battlefield, where individuals have an increasing ability to organize and leverage community networks to effect policy change. This new context requires different structures of advocacy support, as well as different advocacy strategies. This article suggests an adjusted framework for arts advocacy strategy, chronicling changes in political and other contexts and their subsequent implications for the arts.  相似文献

从生活的维度研究法治是法治理论丰富和发展的需要,也是法治实践探索和反思的结果。中国法治实践正在描绘的一幅可能的法治图景是从法律制度的完善到法治理念的凝练再到法治文化的型塑。文化其实就是人们的生活方式,法治文化的建设因此也是法治的生活关怀。对"生活"的研究滥觞于20世纪西方哲学界,胡塞尔、列斐伏尔、哈贝马斯等现当代哲学家的重要理论中都彰显了哲学回归"生活世界"这一主题。"生活"给法治提供了新的范畴体系、理解框架和理论背景。法治以生活为立场是对法治上层建筑立场的补充和完善,其拓展了法治理论,回应了法治实践,也为中国法治走向"生活世界"提供了路径。  相似文献

Attitudes and behaviors of employees in organizations are influenced by fairness judgments employees make about organizations. A model is presented that proposes (i) when fairness becomes an issue to employees, (ii) how certain rules are chosen to evaluate a situation as fair or unfair, and (iii) the psychological and behavioral reactions that may result from judging something as unfair. Mainstream arts management and stakeholder research highlights the relationships between nonprofit organizations and community, yet empirical research on how those interactions result in outcomes is limited. This article looks at the stakeholder attribute “urgency” and the impact on and by the stakeholder group “community.” Building on a comparative case study of five cultural organizations and their capital intensive facility projects, our research finds that both new and existing organizations embrace a community-wide process whereby internal and external stakeholders are identified, relationships nurtured, social and emotional bonds strengthened, and shared urgency between community and organization is created towards specific outcomes.  相似文献

In light of the need to start clearing the methodological confusion in the field of arts management, this article provides a critical overview of the teaching curricula in the field. Distinction is made between programs that copy directly from business management; programs that focus on the technological process of producing an artwork (usually run by practitioners); those that interlink cultural management and cultural policy (highlighting the role of public governance as a higher principle); and programs that focus on an entrepreneurial approach to arts management, connecting it to issues of creativity and innovation. The author calls for clear goals to educate administrators and arts or cultural managers. The suggestion is made to follow what I call the Janus syndrome: looking toward managerial and economic realities but primarily focusing on the arts—the aesthetic and the social aspects of the field. A question is raised about the position of art in arts management curricula, as well as the organization of undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the field.  相似文献

基于非营利组织自身的特殊性,非营利组织信息公开制度相对于营利组织信息公开制度更具有现实意义,它是政府、捐赠人、社会公众等实现对非营利组织监督管理的基础。我国非营利组织信息公开法律制度尚未能够针对公益性组织和互益性组织、不同规模的组织做科学、合理的分类管理;双重管理体制下的双重信息公开有悖于效率的基本原则;社会团体和民办非企业单位信息公开专门制度缺失且缺乏强有力的保障措施。因而,应以功能优化为目标,在基本内容、基本途径和基本要求三方面来完善我国非营利组织信息公开法律制度。在基本内容上重点强化公益性和互益性组织、不同规模组织的分类管理;在基本途径方面完善税务部门对非营利组织信息公开的管理;在基本要求方面应逐步建立社会团体和民办非企业单位信息公开专门制度并健全信息公开法律责任制度。  相似文献

在国际范围内兴起ADR运动之际,我国国内仲裁机构也正纷纷进行改革、改制以求发展。但是,仲裁机构管理文化的缺位却成为困扰我国仲裁机构完成实质性转型的重要原因。企业文化是企业的核心精神和深层动力,它对仲裁机构的管理非常有借鉴意义。笔者结合仲裁机构本身的角色定位,引入企业文化的概念,提出了在仲裁机构内部构筑仲裁机构管理文化的相关建议。  相似文献

This paper investigates why the effectiveness of works councils varies across firms. Drawing on a large body of literature on justice in organizations, and on the basis of the premise of methodological individualism, we present the groundwork for a justice-based theory of workplace codetermination. The theory focuses on workers' attitudes toward justice in organizations, the structural reasons behind these attitudes, and their consequences for the effectiveness of codetermination. Results from a qualitative employee survey in four German firms provide first empirical support for the theory presented.  相似文献
