Iwas among the first law students China given the opportunity to travel to the Soviet Union for an education. But upon returning to China,I found that I was unable to put what I had learned into practice. China's legal system was still barely in existence, or at least, in function prior to the openingup and reform that started in 1978. After the chaos that decades of "class struggle" caused in China ended, together with a determined group of teachers,  相似文献

BY 2020, the number of people holding accreditations of higher education in China will reach 200 million. Astounding as the figure is, most Chinese higher education institutions (HEIs) are still puzzled by a question that was first raised to Premier Wen Jiabao by famous Chinese scientist Qian Xuesen - why can't we cultivate top-notch talent? So far no university in China's mainland has been included in the Top 200 Academic Rankings of World Universities. Though the country has the largest number of college graduates and postgraduates, it hasn't yet produced one Nobel Prize laureate.  相似文献

MARKET WATCH
The Chinese central bank reported that financial performance in the first half of this year was generally stable. But mu- tual funds had heavy losses because of the bearish stock market. Profits at state-owned companies were down 10.3 percent year on year, largely on account of losses in the petrochemical and power industries.China's first defeat in a WTO trade dispute means the country will see an increase in the demand for imported cars. The mainland food, beverage and hotel industry saw fast development in the first half and was expected to continue the trend during the rest of the year.  相似文献

The women's liberation movement in China started after the first opium war and it took shape with the aim of protecting the race and salvaging the country. Doubtlessly, the emergence of modern feminism opened the precedent in the theory of women's liberation in China and exerted a profound and far-reaching influence on women's liberation afterwards. But we must face up to the fact that there was some traps or misunderstanding of modern feminism, which were unfavorable for realizing women's rights and such influence was long, so much so that till today we are still seeing its existence. It is, therefore, necessary to have a full reflection of modem feminism, unveil the original meaning of women's rights and make women's rights return to human rights in order to make the development of women's fights continue.  相似文献

AUSTRALIAN Chantelle Newbery, the 10-meter platform diving gold medal winner at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, was very excited when she received the medal and let a reporter in on a secret. "I would not have won this gold medal had I not been trained by my coach Wang Tongxiang over the past nine years. Diving is not an advantageous event for Australia, and it is all because of my coach Wang's hard work that I'm able to win this gold medal. I am very grateful to him. Thank God that I was given the opportunity to be trained by such an excellent and outstanding coach," she said.  相似文献
