国际社会有关童工劳动的争议及解决

随着童工现象越来越严重,儿童被作为劳动力使用这种现象也引起了人们的关注。部分原因在于,全球化进程的进一步加快,给全世界的学者和活动家带来更多的有关不同地区劳工工作条件信息的同时,也把由边远地区孩子制造的商品送到了高收入国家的消费者手中。这就把两类不同的人们带到同一平台上:真正关心贫穷国家儿童困境的个人和构成发达国家的贸易保护主义力量的人。     

Chapter 12: Doing It in Public:

Foster family treatment programs have been developed primarily by private agencies, although public efforts have shaped the model. Public programs, however, increasingly are becoming involved in the development of programs of this kind. The Missouri Division of Family Services is one of the few public agencies to sponsor a statewide pilot program of foster family treatment. The Division's experience offers valuable lessons and practical guidance regarding the development of treatment foster care in the public sector.     

Beyond the Millennium: Black Women's Writing

Nasta's piece forms part of an oral contribution to the plenary session of the conference in which a variety of speakers discussed the many questions that the conference had raised. It focuses specifically on the location and history of black women's writing in Britain and attempts to address issues that have dominated critical and theoretical discussion for some years. The question as to how far we have moved on in our reading and assessment of these literatures is discussed; also the fact that perhaps debates we now see as being contemporary were also current in the experiences of earlier representations of Britain from a black or Asian perspective. Nasta makes some tentative suggestions in terms of how we might move forward.

Reducing Black Adolescents' Drug Use:

This article focuses on prevention and reduction of drug use among Black adolescents. The family is considered to be a major source in preparing children to handle adolescent stresses such as drug involvement pressures. Primary prevention of drug use begins in early childhood. The family is an underutilized and minimally acknowledged resource in drug abuse prevention efforts. The discussion centers on a review of research findings intimately related to adolescent drug use and Black family issues. An argument is made for a national family policy in support of all American famiiies. Young famiIies are a prime area for the investment or resources. Now and in the future, the American family represents the best primary prevention program available.

Black Adolescent Mothers and Their Families:

This chapter addresses the impact the Black adolescent mother and her child have on their family, and reviews the literature bn programs that serve adolescent mothers. The review indicates that the adolescent is usually viewed as the primary client; few efforts have been made to focus on the family in rendering services. A pilot program including the famities of Black adolescent mothers is discussed here to highlight strategies for providing services within a family context. Barriers to providing services to families are also explored. Finally, a continuum indicating the range of sewices that can be provided to adolescent mothers and their families is proposed.     

Queer Black Feminism: The Pleasure Principle

In this critical personal narrative Harris explores some of the gaps between conceptions of feminist thought and feminist practice. Harris focuses on an analysis of race, class, and desire divisions within feminist sexual politics. She suggests a queer black feminist theory and practice that calls into question naturalized identities and communities, and therefore what feminism and feminist practices might entail.
