法国全民公投结果,对<欧盟宪法条约>说"不".荷兰继之.受此影响,本来对"一体化"半心半意的英国,乘机宣布搁置公投.这无疑是欧罗巴大陆的一次"政治地震".这次"地震"是欧盟内外,政治、经济、社会错综复杂矛盾的总暴露.     

亚洲政党合作的一次盛会

9月3日至5日,由中国共产党主办的第三届亚洲政党国际会议在北京召开.这是中国共产党历史上首次主办的国际性政党会议.有30多个国家的80多个政党派代表与会,这些代表中包括一些国家的领导人和政府、议会的领导人,他们也是政党的领袖.我们党和国家的领导人出席了会议.     

Oil abundance and violent political conflict: A critical assessment

This paper addresses one of the empirical claims of the ‘resource curse’ argument, namely that oil abundance raises the probability of political violence. I argue that the two main theoretical premises of the oil-civil-war link, rent-seeking and the rentier state model, fail to provide a convincing argument as to why oil economies are more vulnerable to the onset of civil war. I find that three often-mentioned mechanisms as to why oil economies succumb to political violence not convincing; that oil economies are poor economic performers; that oil economies generate high corruption; and that oil economies tend to produce authoritarian regimes. I also examine the empirical evidence on the oil-civil-war link and conclude that the results are not robust. I conclude with some policy implications.

2005年5月22日,蒙古国举行第四届总统直选,各主要政治力量的四位候选人参与角逐,结果时任国家大呼拉尔主席(议长)的蒙古人民革命党(简称人革党)主席那·恩赫巴亚尔以53.46%的绝对优势获胜,成为蒙古国历史上第三位总统.恩虽年仅47岁,但叱咤蒙古政坛已近十年,是蒙古历史上惟一执掌过总理、议长、总统三大权力的政治强人.

A scientific approach to measure public political participation in Pakistan

Public political participation is an exhaustive subject in the democratic system that is contributing as a tilled land since the birth of democracy. It has a wide range of frequency, but voting is one of the easiest among all forms of public participation. Despite the easiness of voting, Pakistan ranks 164th in terms of voter turnout among 169 countries of the world. The voter turnout of the second largest Muslim democracy and the fifth largest among all the democratic states was recorded as 45.3% in the 2013 general election, which was less than India’s (59.4%) and even Bangladesh’s (58.2%). More than half of the population in Pakistan does not think it is its duty to cast its vote. The present study is an effort to investigate public political participation through six independent variables: democratic political party, party mobilization, security, accessibility, leadership image and moderating factor citizen distrust, and a useful sample size of 1884 was collected across the country. SPSS version 24.0 was used to measure the data. The results show significant and positive relations among the dependent and independent variables, while citizen distrust negatively moderates the dependent and independent variables of the study.     

Classifying political regimes

This study presents a classification of political regimes as democracies and dictatorships for a set of 141 countries between 1950 or the year of independence and 1990. It improves existing classifications by a better grounding in political theory, an exclusive reliance on observables rather than on subjective judgements, an explicit distinction between systematic and random errors, and a more extensive coverage.     

俄罗斯政治版图的新变化——"公正俄罗斯"党

2006年10月28日,俄罗斯生活党、退休者党和祖国党三个中左翼党派分别举行非例行代表会议,一致决定合并组建新党,并将新党的名称确定为"公正俄罗斯:祖国·退休者·生活"(简称"公正俄罗斯"党).当天,"公正俄罗斯"党举行了成立大会,原俄罗斯生活党领导人谢尔盖·米罗诺夫以160票赞成,6票反对的结果当选为该党领导人.
