The development of washerwoman's hands depends upon the length of submersion. Until now there have been no results published on the qualitative and quantitative time-related changes with regard to washer-woman's hands. The fingertips of 50 hands from 35 corpses were qualitatively examined at early postmortem (1-4 h after death). The quantitative investigations were confined to the tips of the middle fingers. Submersion of the hands in water at 37 degrees C was interrupted at intervals of 10 min, 30 min, 60 min, 2 h, 3 h, 4 h, 6 h, 10 h and 24 h for a period of 30s-1 min. The width of three adjoining ridges of the skin were measured in three defined areas of the middle fingertips and photographs were taken. Quantitative results: No relevant differences were seen in the changes of the width of the skin ridges between the right and left hand after submersion in water; there was no specific difference between the sexes. During the soaking process the skin ridges influence each other. The age of the individual corpse has no influence on the change in width of the skin ridges. Concerning the qualitative test results, six time-limited stages could be classified: stage I: physiological dry state; stage II: softened state; stage III: swollen and compressed state; stage IV: partial wrinkle covering; stage V: epidermal lysis; stage VI: loss of relief outlines.  相似文献

Time course of ultrastructural changes and RNA production in human brain and myocardial cells during the period between clinical and biological death is studied. Changes in the cytoplasm of brain neurons develop 4 hours after death, and 8 h post mortem the destructive changes in the cytoplasm and nuclei progress. During the period of 4-13 h post mortem the endotheliocyte nuclei are capable of producing RNA. Active production of RNA is on-going in the myocyte nuclei 4 h after death; the synthetic activity decreases by 8 h and by 13 h the synthetic activity in autopsy material is over.  相似文献

Numerous methods have been described for making dactyloscopic traces visible on human skin, but these have never become routine--last but not least because they are too complicated and time-consuming to perform. The purpose of the present investigation was to find out to what extent fingerprints on the skin of deceased persons can be made visible with the help of conventional methods like iodine fuming or brushing with Magna-Brush and can be preserved with gelatine film or moulding material. Of the total number of 486 experimental fingerprints the dermal ridges could be made visible in 150 prints. The best findings were obtained when the trace had been applied several hours post mortem. On the skin of the extremities better results could be achieved than on the trunk or the neck. Dactyloscopic tracing on the skin of bodies in homicide cases should be taken into consideration especially if there is evidence that the perpetrator touched the victim after his/her death (e.g. if the body was transported).  相似文献

A simple technique was employed for measurement of potassium loss (K(los)s) from normal and from postmortem rat erythrocytes during controlled exposure to physiologically isosmotic NaCl solution. Potassium loss from the cells decreased in a (non-linear) time-related manner during the 0-108 h postmortem period; expression of the data in the form of a double logarithmic plot (log K(loss) versus log postmortem interval (PMI) linearized the relationship between 18 and 108 h post mortem (r = -0.86; P less than 0.001 (n = 24)). Experimental data revealed that the observed postmortem changes in K(loss) were associated with and probably resulted from, the postmortem decrease in magnitude of the potassium concentration gradient across the erythrocyte membrane. Attention is drawn to the possibility of utilizing measurements of in vitro loss of potassium from erythrocytes as a means of estimating time elapsed since death.  相似文献

The effect of post mortem contact of the skin with petrol was investigated in 18 corpses with exposure times between 10 min and 24 h. The earliest onset of skin changes was observed within 2 h of exposure. They consisted of swelling and wrinkling with detachment of the upper layers of the skin (positive Nikolski's sign). Histologically the lesions appeared as non-vital acantholyses located in the prickle-cell layer with formation of intra-epidermal bullae. An influence of age and sex could be excluded, the earlier onset of lesions at 22 degrees C than at 4 degrees C was not statistically significant. These findings prove that post mortem petrol exposure may lead to dermal lesions.  相似文献

Objective To explore the feasibility and appropriate parameters for estimating postmortem interval (PMI) through time-related CT imaging into dynamically monitoring the cardiac changes of rabbits died from four kinds of execution. Methods The experimental rabbits were executed with four disposals of air embolism, strangulation, drowning and hemorrhagic shock. The dead rabbits were observed of their hearts with CT scanning every 6 hours within 120h from the death moment, having the obtained time-different CT images and mean CT values examined. With the cardiac average CT values of rabbits died from discrepant execution, four relevant regression equations were established against the elapsing time (i.e. PMI). Results The CT images of post-death cardiac tissue of rabbits died from one of four executions did change regularly with the PMI elongating, showing consistent with the autopsy verification. The binomial regressive equations were established between the post-death cardiac average CT value and PMI from four executions, demonstrating statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The postmortem cardiac CT imaging into PMI analysis, plus the relating regression equation, provides a new objective visual quantitative approach and reference for forensic medicine to infer the time of death. © 2021, Editorial Office of Forensic Science and Technology. 为调查死后组织DNA含量变化与死亡时间的关系,本文采用流式细胞仪对死后0~96小时(0~96hourpostmortem,hpm)大鼠的骨骼肌、脾、肾细胞DNA含量进行分析,结果表明,各组织显示了随死后间隔时间延长,含碎片DNA细胞增多,含完整DNA细胞减少的趋势;DNA降解系列组方图分析结果表明,脾组织降解速度明显快于肾和骨骼肌组织;骨骼肌在制成单细胞悬液过程中的人为损伤,可造成DNA提前降解.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to assess the potential speed of post mortem alteration to skeletal microstructure by examining human material drawn from differing environmental contexts and time periods. The material was taken from terrestrial, intertidal and lacustrine contexts and extended over a range of 3 months to 83 years post mortem. The examination was conducted using backscattered electron imaging which provided information on microstructure and relative density. The results from this study have significantly brought forward the time of known onset for post mortem alteration for 3 morphological types of microstructural change, the earliest of which was 3 months post mortem. The contribution of the depositing environment was also shown to influence significantly the microstructural/ morphological type of post mortem alteration. It is hypothesized that microstructural changes to bone could occur within days of death as a result of endogenous bacterial migration to the skeleton. Further studies are required to establish definitively the earliest moment that such change can occur prior to skeletonisation.  相似文献

目的了解细胞因子在创伤及修复过程中的表达的含量变化与损伤时间的关系。方法用免疫酶联吸附方法(ELISA)检测不同损伤时间(生前伤0.5~168h)实验动物皮肤切创组织中IL-2和TNF-a的表达水平。结果IL-2、TNF-a在造创后0.5h即升高,并分别在造创后3h和1h到达峰值,在造创后48h均有反弹,在72h和168h持续升高。结论上述细胞因子在创口修复中的蛋白表达水平呈时间相关性特点。  相似文献

The fast moving progress in medical technology causes someone to ask if the progress is not only in diagnostic abilities but also in diagnostic precision. Despite the improved quality of diagnostic technology, the frequency of misdiagnosis has not decreased appreciably. The goal of autopsy is not only to uncover clinicians mistakes or judge them but rather to instruct clinicians to learn by their own mistakes.We reviewed the autopsy records from the Archive of the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Ljubljana of 1792 deceased persons in 1997 and 1998 and compared the clinical and post mortem diagnoses. We eliminated from study all autopsies performed on deceased persons not admitted to the Clinical Medical Centre. From the remaining 911 autopsy reports we compared the post mortem diagnoses with the clinical diagnoses. We classified findings into five groups according to the level of agreement between the clinical and the post mortem diagnoses. Group 1 included cases of complete agreement between clinical and post mortem diagnoses. Group 2 cases of disagreement about the basic illness, group 3 cases of partial disagreement about the direct causes of death, group 4 cases of total disagreement between the clinical diagnosis and the post mortem, named, also misdiagnosis and group 5 clinical diagnosis which could not be calssified.The diagnoses were in total agreement in 49.30% of cases, in partial agreement (disagreement about direct causes of death) in 20.68% and in disagreement about the basic illness in 6.87%. The diagnoses were in total disagreement in 9.87%. 13.30% of cases were not possible to classify owing to incomplete death certificates or reports of the causes of death.  相似文献

目的建立生物检材中百草枯的超高效液相色谱-质谱联用检测方法,研究百草枯灌胃染毒致死的大鼠动物模型。方法大鼠以1/2 LD_(50)剂量灌胃染毒,分别于染毒后0.5h、2h、4h、8h、12h、24h、48h、72h处死解剖,采集心、肝、脾、肺、肾、脑、肌肉、膀胱和胃组织,UPLC-MS/MS法定量检测各组织中百草枯。结果试验中大鼠灌胃后,4h以内胃是主要分布器官,胃中含量最多,其他器官中含量相对较低。4h内除胃以外的脏器含量变化不大,4h后胃内百草枯含量有所下降,除胃以外的脏器含量均升高。各组织与脑组织比较具有显著性差异(P0.05)。结论百草枯在大鼠体内死后分布不均匀并且各组织含量随着时间变化有所改变。百草枯UPLC-MS/MS方法、口服染毒致死的动物模型、各组织分布规律可为甲百草枯中毒死亡案件提供检测依据。  相似文献

目的 探讨TGF-β_1mRNA在不同时间的表达变化及其与伤后经过时间的关系。方法 应用逆转录-聚合酶链反应(RT-PCR)分别对大鼠生前0.5h、1h、3h、6h、12h、48h、72h、96h、168h和死后0.5h、1h、3h的皮肤切创组织中的TGF-β_1mRNA表达变化进行检测,采用ID软件对凝胶扫描的数据进行密度分析。结果 TGF-β_1mRNA在生前皮肤切创后0.5h上升,3h开始急剧升高,48h含量达到峰值;死后皮肤切创未见TGF-β_1mRNA的表达。结论 大鼠皮肤切创TGF-β_1mRNA的表达具有时间相关性,RT-PCR是检测细胞因子在基因水平表达的灵敏方法。  相似文献

In this article a comparison is made between the legal regulations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, England and the USA. The estimation of the post mortem period, in cases where death occurred under suspicious circumstances, is usually attempted using temperature measurements taken at a single body site. Early investigations of the validity of such an approach use the abdominal skin surface, the axilla and the rectum as measurement sites (B.H. Knight, Forensic Sci. Int., 36 (1987) 47-55). However, it has recently become more common to use the rectum alone, though the ear and the nasal passages have also been utilized. Whatever site is employed, the estimates are frequently found to be inaccurate. There are several fundamental reasons for these inaccuracies, the most prominent being the unknown variation in the ambient temperature between the time of death and the commencement of measurements, and the unknown body temperature at the time of death. This paper proposes a method of overcoming the above difficulties by taking a series of measurements concurrently at a number of body sites, a technique used by several previous workers (B.H. Knight, Forensic Sci. Int., 36 (1987) 47-55). Initial investigations have shown that an improved estimation of post mortem period is obtainable by the application of a suitable decision-making algorithm.  相似文献

Estimation of the time of death is one of the most important problems for forensic medicine and law. Physical and chemical postmortem changes are evaluated together while estimating the time of death.In this study, in vitro storage and postmortem changes of white blood cells were aimed to be compared within the given postmortem interval, and a follow-up study was carried out. Blood smears which were obtained from 10 non-refrigerated cadavers (experimental group) and from 40 hospital patients (control group) have been evaluated to observe and compare changes during the in vitro storage and postmortem degenerative morphological changes that white blood cells undergo throughout the given postmortem intervals. The samples were examined by using a light microscope, and blood cells were differentiated by staining blood films with May-Grunwald stain, followed by Giemsa stain. Identifiable degenerated eosinophils and monocytes were first examined at 6h of death and the in vitro storage, and they were unidentifiable beyond 72 h of storage. Identifiable degeneration of neutrophils were first examined at 6h of death and storage while unidentifiable beyond 96 h of storage. Identifiable degeneration of lymphocytes were first examined at 24h of death, and they were still identifiable beyond 120 h.Cellular changes of leukocytes can be useful in the 6-120 h for estimating the time of in vitro storage, and the findings match during the first 21 h for both experimental and control groups. Finally, this follow-up study and the comparison will also be carried out for a longer postmortem interval, and other specific hypothesis that relate cellular changes in tissues other than blood with time since death are various points that needs to be studied.  相似文献

Medico-legal autopsy is the primary method in determining the cause and manner of death when the death is suspected to be unnatural. In some of these autopsies, the death remains ambiguous, even after a complete autopsy including histological investigation and toxicological screenings. In cases where there are no morphological abnormalities, medico-legal genetics may offer additional means to provide knowledge of possible genetic mutations, which may have initiated the process or predisposed the individual to stress risk conditions leading to death. One class of ambiguous deaths consists of drug-related deaths where the interpretation of the toxicological results are not clear. In such situations post mortem genotyping and the analysis of metabolite rations may provide an insight to the findings. A few cases demonstrating the potential strength of pharmacogenetics in medico-legal context has been published. However, there is a paramount need for serious scientific studies before the field of post mortem pharmacogenetics can be utilized in routine medico-legal analyses casework and brought routinely into courtroom.  相似文献

The pattern of change in activity of two enzymes in rat skeletal muscle during body storage after death has been determined. Myofibrillar protease activity was found to increase linearly with time of storage post mortem at room temperature but not at 4 °C. In contrast, creatine phosphokinase activity declines linearly with time, and again storage at 4 °C prevented the change in enzyme activity. Starvation of animals for 5 days or forced exercise prior to death did not markedly alter the rate of change in activity of the two enzymes, although creatine phosphokinase specific activity at time of death was higher in the starved and exercised rats as compared to control animals. A plot of the logarithm of protease/creatine phosphokinase specific activities ratio versus time post mortem yields a linear curve at room temperature. These observations offer a potential method for estimating time of death.  相似文献

In many crimes, the elapsed time between production and collecting fingermark traces is crucial. and a method able to detect the aging of latent prints would represent an improvement in forensic procedures. Considering that as the latent print gets older, substantial changes in the relative proportion of individual components secreted by skin glands could affect the morphology of ridges, morphometry could be a potential tool to assess the aging of latent fingermarks. Then, considering the very limited research in the field, the present work aims to evaluate the morphometry of latent palmprint ridges, as a function of time, in order to identify an aging pattern. The latent marks were deposited by 20 donors on glass microscope slides considering pressure and contact angle, and then were maintained under controlled environmental conditions. The morphometric study was conducted on marks developed with magnetic powder in 7 different time intervals after deposition (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 days); 60 ridges were evaluated for each developed mark. The results showed that: 1) the method for the replacement and mixing of skin secretions on the palm was appropriate to ensure reproducibility of latent prints, and 2) considering the studied group, there was a time-dependent reduction in the width of ridges and on the percentage of visible ridges over 30 days. Results suggest the possibility of using the morphometric method to determine an aging profile of latent palmprints on glass surface, aiming for forensic purposes.  相似文献

Post-mortem contraction was measured using sensitive force transducers inserted into human muscle. The muscle was stimulated using rectangular impulses of 1 sec duration and known current intensity. After some time, a noticeable change of the muscular contraction occurred, from a two-peak to a one-peak shape. The maximum force of the muscular contraction using a stable current intensity decreased with time since death, but relaxation time increased. The decrease of the maximum force and the increase of the relaxation time were used as criteria for extrapolating the time since death in a random sample of 50 bodies. The calculated 95% limits of confidence were 2.85 h (decrease of the maximum force) and 2.7 h (increase of relaxation time) up to 13 hours post mortem. The calculated 95% limits of confidence were checked on an independent sample of 21 bodies and proved to be reliable.  相似文献

In CAF-electrophoresis, extracts of cardiac muscle and of kidney tissue, after storage at 4 degrees C, show a roughly linear increase of the equivalent to the Albumin fraction. This increase depends on the time elapsed and is explained by the relatively high stability of this fraction compared to organ proteins, which appear in the globulin region. Thus, a sort of internal standard exists and can be used as a parameter for the determination of the post mortem period. Hepatic tissue is less suitable for this kind of investigations as the relation of the post mortem period and the values of the relative concentration of the fraction do not show the linearity found in cardiac muscle and kidney tissue. Splenic tissue shows no distinct trend and the findings are of little value. The present investigations were arranged in such a way that taking the order of magnitude for the equivalent of the Albumin fraction as a guideline led to a determination of the maximum post mortem period, i.e., the maximum period of time the body lay after the hour of death.
