JCFA New President Koichi Kato and His Party in China

Invited by the China-Japan Friendship Association (CJFA), a 11-member delegation of the Japan-China Friendship Association (JCFA) headed by Koichi Kato, new president of the JCFA and former secretary general of Japan's Liberal Democratic Party, visited China from September 5 to 7, during which they attended the opening ceremony of the Beijing Paralympic Games and other relevant activities. Winners of the Japan Chinese Speech Contest

Editor’s Note:This year marks the 40th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations. The final of the 29th Japan Chinese Speech Contest sponsored by the Japan-China Friendship Association (JCFA) was held in Tokyo on January 8. The 28 contestants came from 17 Japanese prefectures. They spoke about their experience in learning Chinese language, their contacts with Chinese people and their views on removing misunderstanding and enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries.
