Article 1 The name of this Association is the Chinese People's Association for Friendship withForeign Countries,abbreviated as CPAFFC. Article 2 The Association is a national people's organization of the People's Republic of China.

Article 1 The name of this organization is the Chinese People's Association for Friendship withForeign Countries, abbreviated as CPAFFC.Article 2 The Association is a national people's organization of the People's Republic of China.Article 3 The aims of the Association are to enhance mutual understanding and friendship, promoteexchanges and cooperation in the political, economic, trade, scientific and technological, social, cultural,educational and other fields between the Chinese and other peoples, and safeguard world peace.

Article 2 As an institute of people-to-people diplomacy, on behalf of the Chinese people, the Association makes friends extensively and makes close friends on the international arena and works to win broad international sympathy for the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics and to provide a consolidated social basis for the establishment of good state relations between China and all other countries. Article 3 To enhance people's friendship, further international cooperation, safeguard world peace and promote common development are purposes which the Association pursues indefatigably in its work.

Teaching at Nanjing Union Theological Seminary

On a back lane in the bustling Xinjiekou District of the city center of Nanjing is a quiet almost hidden "oasis", the campus of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary. This is temporary home to nearly two hundred students preparing for leadership and teaching for the Chinese Protestant Church. Union Theological Seminary (UTS) Nanjing is the national seminary of the China Christian Council. It has 27 fulltime Chinese teaching staff. The addition of a few foreign teachers is a new experiment. The hope seems to be that the foreign teachers will bring different experiences, perspectives and teaching methodologies into the faculty mix. The first two foreign faculty members taught at UTS in the 2001-02 year.
