新加坡中小企业的发展现状

新加坡从英国统治时代起,一直保持着贸易转口港的地位,经济结构以商业和服务业为主。华人约占新加坡总人口的76％,所经营的企业以家族式的中小企业为多。自从独立和实现工业化以来,其基本经济结构有了较大的变化,但中小企业在新加坡的经济发展中仍起着重要作用。

1990年代以来日本科技体制改革及对我国的启示

20世纪90年代以来，日本政府为了在21世纪继续保持、巩固世界经济、科技强国地位和追赶美国，相继出台了一系列新政策推动科技体制改革，以求建立一个有利于科技创新的新体制，有效地利用科技创新开辟新兴支柱产业，进行产业结构调整，拉动其经济增长，摆脱经济长期低迷的困境。我们有必要对日本在科技体制改革中的一些做法进行认真研究，从中得出有益的启示，即不断扩大科技研究经费总投入是科技迅速发展的基本保证，科技创造、创新是支撑国家持续发展的动力源泉，培养一大批具有“创造性”、“开拓性”的人才是一个国家科技创造、创新的关键。     

东盟国家经济开发第二回合与外资

七十年代,东盟国家采取了加强与发达国家之间的经济联系这样一种外向型的经济开发政策,取得了出口和政府主导型经济的高速增长。进入八十年代以后,由于扩大出口的障碍增大、国际收支的限制等原因,东盟国家不得不重新修订它们的经济开发方针。除了历来实行开放经济体制的新加坡之外,其他四个东盟国家都不得不谋求提高经济效率和搞活民间部门经济。但目前出口和财政的紧缩乃是七十年代经济迅速增长的结果,对于曾经被誉为发展中国家当中的优等生的东盟国家来说,它们在八十年代的经济开发可以说是其经济开发的第二个回合。     

新加坡近期的经济发展

新加坡经济在80年代下半期以来,经历了两次的经济衰退或经济增长减速;1985/86年度和1991/92年度.1985年由于:(1)80年代中期美国经济衰退,国外需求减退;(2)1979—1984年新加坡建设高潮过后,以建设投资为中心的国内投资减退,经济增长速度大幅度减速;1985年的实际国内生产总值增长率为-1.6%.为此,新加坡的政府采取了降低公司所得税、增加公共投资项目等财政措施,以求促进经济恢复.其后,随着主要出口市场美国、东盟各国的经济增长加速,新加坡的出口贸易额自1986年年中起转趋增大,新加坡经济趋向恢复.进入1987年以后,除了国外需求增强之外,国内需求也由于收入水平上升导致私人消费与民间投资增大而趋于增强,从1987年到1990年期间,新加坡的经济增长速度有了加速.但是,进入

发展中国家社会经济结构的变化

发展中国家的国内生产总值在从1950年到1980年期间增长了五倍,这样显著的增长当然不是在社会经济结构毫无变化的基础上取得的。这种社会经济结构的变化涉及到三个方面的变化:第一、民间经济经营形态与国营经济经营形态之间相互关系的变化;第二、经济中民族资本与外国资本之间相互关系的变化;第三、近代化的产业结构、技术结构乃至社会经济结构和传统的产业结构、技术结构乃至社会经济结构之间相互关系的变化。

In this paper, the author has made a thorough study over the new generation of American China Watchers. Most of the pages are devoted to a detailed comparison between the old generation and the young generation of American China Watchers regarding to their background, education, and views over China. At the end of the paper, the author also gives some policy suggestions for both the Chinese and U.S. government based on the findings in this study.
