China Insurance Regulatory Commission （CIRC） Recommends the Use of Minority Languages in Promoting the Provisions of Motor Vehicle Accident Liability Compulsory Insurance

To better promote among the public the provisions of Motor Vehicle Accident Liability Compulsory Insurance, Insurance Association of China, under the guidance of China Insurance Regulatory Commission （C1RC）, has organized a team of experts from the China Ethnic Languages Translation Bureau to translate these provisions into Tibetan, Mongolian and Uygur.     

＂National Human Rights Action Plan（2009-2010）＂ guarantees the equality of all ethnic groups and protects the legal rights of all the minorities.

The State Council Information Office promulgated China＇s first ＂National HumanRights Action Plan （2009-2010）＂ on April 13, 2008. This is the first time for China todetermine a national plan on human rights, which clearly defines the objectives and concrete measures to be taken by the Chinese government in the promotion and protection of human rights in the coming two years.

Glimpses of the Hui Ethnic Group

China has 56 separate ethnic groups,and the Hui is the second only in size to the majority Han. With a population of 9.82 million (2000 census figure), Hui people are widely scattered and can be found in most counties and cities throughout China. However,most of them live in northwestern autonomous regions and provinces such as Ningxia, Xinjiang, Qinghai and Gansu. 随着经济发展和城市建设的不断需要,大批外来人口陆续迁入城市社会并扎根生活.伴随着人口流动,各种饮食文化也被带到同一社会中,发生碰撞与交融.人们有机会接触和选择越来越多的原本存在于其它族群与社会中的风味饮食,通过共餐走进和品尝他者的文化.在宁夏银川市区的个案研究中看到,原有的以饮食为代表的文化边界在杂居的城市社会生活中,由于其所具有的弹性,不断发生调适以至某种程度上被打破和超越.人们通过日常饮食生活实践走进彼此,理解并接纳彼此,实现地方共同体社会的和合共生,为理解中国这样一个多民族国家在新时代铸牢中华民族共同体意识提供了地方经验.     

近代视野下西部民族地区的城市发展——以甘宁青区域为考察对象

在现代性因素的“跃进”性扩散下,以洋务运动为先声,19世纪后期的甘宁青地区也开始了缓慢而曲折的早期现代化进程,城市亦随之出现转型并得到一定发展。但是,由于自然地理环境的先天不足,再加上长期战乱不断、对民族关系问题的认识偏差等后天的人为主观能动性的缺失,较之东、中部等地区而言,近代甘宁青地区的城市发展又表现出明显的滞后性:不仅城市发展缓慢,而且城市早期现代化水平也十分有限,这种滞后的城市发展又对区域的发展造成了严重的消极影响。
