＂Great Wall Peace Forum＂ Held at Shanhaiguan

July 29^th, the ＂Great Wall Peace Forum＂ was held at Shanhaiguan, Qinhuangdao City, China. The forum was co-sponsored by the Great Wall Society and China NGO Network for International Exchanges （CNIE）. Chinese experts and scholars from all walks of life, leaders from Qinhuangdao city and Shanhaiguan city and some foreign envoys in China attended the forum. The 7~(th) Sino-German Seminar on Comprehensive Security Held in Beijing

From May 13 to 14, 2008, the 7^th Sino-German Seminar on Comprehensive Security themed ＂China-Europe and New World Order＂ jointly sponsored by the International Department of Communist Party of China （IDCPC）, the Chinese Association for International Understanding （CAFIU） and the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation of Germany （FES） was held in Beijing. Impressions on South Africa National Civic Organization

South Africa National Civic Organization (Sanco) held its 4th National Conference from 12-13 December 2006 in Bloemfontein,the judicial capital of South Africa. There were more than 1000 delegates from 9 provinces to the Conference. The representatives of the Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAFIU) were invited to attend the Conference. During and after the conference,CAFIU representatives had extensive contacts and exchanges of views with the officials from the concerned government departments and Tripartite Alliance and scholars and experts from academic circles,thus having deepened their understanding of Sanco.

Financial Crisis and System Transformation

The China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations （CICIR） hosted a conference on ＂The International Financial Crisis and the Transformation of International System＂ on April 2nd, 2009, the same day that the G20 summit was held in London. The conference was chaired by Cui Liru, the President of the CICIR, and more than 20 well-known scholars from the CICIR and some other think tanks in Beijing participated. The current international financial crisis has had significant repercussions worldwide, and will have a far-reaching impact on the world economic and political pattern.
