戈尔巴乔夫将所获诺贝尔奖的部份奖金捐献给保健事业

1990年戈尔巴乔夫获“诺贝尔和平奖”,在此之前他还曾获意大利“菲乌吉奖”。两个奖共得到116万7000美元。1990年12月14日戈尔巴乔夫宣布将部份奖金捐赠给保健事业,首先给儿童保健事业。这位总统还告知说,国内外出版他的有关改革的书的所有稿酬为一百万卢布和85万美

Einschleusung von Migranten

In jüngster Vergangenheit hat sich die Einschleusung von Migranten zu einem neuen Massenphänomen weltweiter Wanderung entwickelt. Trotz seiner international steigenden Bedeutung wird der Menschenschmuggel von der Migrationssoziologie bislang kaum beachtet. Vor diesem Hintergrund gibt der vorliegende Beitrag zum einen — vorwiegend aus deutschem Blickwinkel — grundlegende Informationen über die Einschleusung von Migranten, zum anderen nähert er sich seinem Gegenstand aus soziologischer Perspektive. Menschenschmuggel lässt sich als sozialer Prozess verstehen, der durch ein Tauschgeschäft zwischen Migranten und Schleusern in Gang kommt und immer organisierter abläuft. Die starke Expansion der Einschleusung kann vor allem durch Globalisierungsprozesse und schleusungsbedingte Eigendynamiken erklärt werden. Wie die abschließende Evaluation bisheriger staatlicher Gegenmaßnahmen zeigt, können westliche Gesellschaften auch in nächster Zukunft nicht auf eine verstärkte Grenzsicherung verzichten.

Die Organisation von Wissensarbeit

Die Leitfrage dieses Artikels lautet: Wie ist Wissensarbeit organisiert und welche Konsequenzen hat dies für den Organisationsbegriff? Zuerst wird der Begriff Organisation definiert. Anschlie?end wird Wissensarbeit als eine T?tigkeit definiert, deren Mittel und Zwecke nicht programmiert sind und die deshalb konstitutiv darauf angewiesen ist, dass zum einen der Austausch von Daten und zum anderen die interaktive Generierung neuen Wissens erfolgen. Der Begriff Wissensarbeit wird kurz im ?konomischen, im arbeitssoziologischen und im systemtheoretischen Diskurs rekonstruiert. Es wird dann gezeigt, dass Wissensarbeit sich nicht mit Hilfe traditioneller Kontrollformen managen l?sst. Aus einer Reihe von Kontextsteuerungsverfahren wird hier besonders das eines gro?en Handlungsspielraums analysiert, der sowohl intrinsische Motivation als auch nicht intendierte Kooperation unterstützt. Abschlie?end werden die Ver?nderungen für den Organisationsbegriff bei einem solchen Verst?ndnis für Wissensarbeit aufgezeigt. An den beiden Beispielen von Partnerschaften und zirkul?rem Organisieren wird dies illustriert.

The traditional view of entrepreneurs as persons exhibiting exceptional initiative and willingness to take risks, who achieve considerable economic success by being innovative in markets, is challenged in this paper. A broader definition of the concept will be introduced: Entrepreneurs are profit-seeking sellers of commodities on markets. According to this conception, a society of entrepreneurs refers to a society in which potentially every member throughout his or her life, time and again, faces the need to act as an entrepreneur. The paper will start by clarifying the concept of entrepreneurship and distinguishing various forms of its manifestation. The second part provides an interpretation of change in entrepreneurship based on the thesis of its expansion and ?profanation“: Expanding entrepreneurship within organizations – downward and inward – in form of projects and in context of permanent organizational change is of crucial significance in this respect. The ?profanation“ (and normalization) of entrepreneurial action becomes manifest in the context of project structures where employees at all levels are expected to bring forth innovative resource combinations. The process of ?creative destruction“ (Schumpeter) is inwardly directed, thus challenging the prevailing understanding of organizations. Finally, the cultural conditions underlying such a development of entrepreneurship are discussed. Resulting behavior uncertainties and coordination problems raise the question of how project-type entrepreneurship might be integrated into existing organization structures.

Jenseits von Zentrum und Peripherie

The central question for Karl Marx concerning the specific role of symbolic domination in capitalism challenges us down to the present day. We continue to improperly perceive the symbolic and immaterial structure subjacent to capitalism that is responsible for its peculiar ??symbolic violence.?? This article analyzes two interrelated issues: first, the racism implicated by concepts that articulate central and peripheral capitalism; and secondly, its principal consequence, which is the absence of broad and encompassing concepts in modern social theory. This eliminates a chance to articulate universal contexts??at least as universal as capitalism in its global expansion. The reach of contemporary critical theory is therefore limited in terms of central questions. Among the concepts that are abandoned by the fragmentation and contextualization is that of social class and that of the symbolic violence produced by structural changes that encompass capitalism as a whole. The following article draws on empirical studies concerning under class and the ??new?? middle class conducted in Brazil to illustrate its thesis.
