SU Guirong is China's first and only female white tiger-tamer. She has been performing with her beloved beasts in the Guangzhou Xiangjiang Safari Park for the past four years. Although in captivity since cubhood, training these big kittens has been a slow process. It took Su Guirong more than two years just to become familiar with her tigers. She recalls how the first time she entered their cage she instinctively lowered her head to meet their enquiring gaze. Feeding tiger cubs is also an acquired skill.
