From Passive Actor to Active Leader

The closing ceremony of the Fourth China International Import Expo (CIIE) took place in Shanghai on November 10. As the world's first dedicated import exhibition at the national level, the CIIE serves as an important platform for international purchasing, investment promotion, cultural exchanges and cooperation. The Fourth CIIE coincided with the 20th anniversary of China's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). The past two decades have seen China's economic aggregate jump from about 10 trillion yuan ($1.54 trillion) in 2001, to more than 100 trillion yuan ($15.4 trillion) in 2020, while its total foreign trade leapt to $4.6 trillion from $500 billion during the same period.     

PACKED TO THE RAFTERS

From 2018 to 2020, the number of U.S. companies attending the China International Import Expo (CIIE) increased from 180 to 198, with their total exhibition area one of the largest among all participating countries and regions. This year, some 200 U.S. com-panies attended the expo's fourth edition that took place in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, hitting a new high. Their active engagement in the CIIE mirrors U.S. businesses' continued passion for the Chinese market, the only major economy to achieve positive growth last year amid the worldwide impact of COVID-19, a Xinhua News Agency commentary read.     

A MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL PLATFORM

Paulo Estivallet de Mesquita, Brazilian Ambassador to China China has been Brazil's main trading partner since 2009, and Brazil ranked ninth as China's main trading part-ner in 2020. Last year, Brazil and China established a record-high bilateral trade flow, with over $102 billion. A new bilateral trade record has already been achieved in 2021: From January to September, Brazil-China trade has surpassed $105 billion. Thus, it is fair to say that we have a mature and mutually beneficial commercial relation-ship. However, there is always room for improvement and that is why events such as the CIIE play an important role. More than 22 Brazilian companies were rep-resented at the CIIE, all of them aiming at deepening their knowl-edge of the Chinese market and increasing their local presence.     

A Fair for Globalization

The Fourth China International Import Expo (CIIE) took place in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, in online-offline hy-brid format. This is an important event for the international community to boost global economic and trade growth in a context of fatigued international trade dur-ing the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, the expo denotes China's determination in the quest for global economic growth as the country resumes energetic recov-ery. Nearly 3,000 businesses from 127 countries and regions attended the physi-cal trade fair, with 58 countries and three international organizations joining the online exhibition. The numbers of both participating countries and businesses ex-ceeded those of a year ago.

GOING THE DISTANCE

As Chinese consumers embrace cute dolls and warm clothing made from Peruvian alpaca fur, Uncle Mamani, a Peruvian craftsman, has also em-barked on a journey for the better. He and his family work for Warmpaca, a brand set up by Chinese and Peruvian co-founders manufacturing alpaca fur products. This year marks the com-pany's fourth time participating in the annual China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, once again proving an expo highlight. Peru is home to the alpaca, a domesticated camelid mammal that roams the high altitudes of the Andes and bears soft and light fur which, after processing, can be used to generate a variety of products. Many Peruvian families rely on the raising of alpacas or selling of alpaca souvenirs for a living. Established in 2018, Warmpaca has developed around 200 varieties of prod-ucts ranging from dolls to clothes and scarves. It has seen the floor area of its stand at the expo expand from only 9 to 30 square meters this year.

指纹鉴定技术作为痕迹检验技术中的一项基本内容,是现场勘查工作中的重要技术手段。虽然近年来我国不断加强指纹鉴定方面的技术开发与应用,但在指纹识别、比对等方面的效率还比较低。基于此,有必要针对指纹鉴定技术在痕迹检验工作中的运用进行研究。在对指纹鉴定技术进行概括介绍的基础上,就指纹鉴定技术的运用现状进行分析,并对如何优化技术的运用提出相关的策略建议。     

创新基层痕迹检验工作开展的策略分析

痕迹检验作为刑事案件侦破过程中的关键环节,主要是通过对刑事案件现场或者疑似现场进行与犯罪行为相关的痕迹物证的发现与提取,并借助相应的技术手段获取其中包含的重要信息,为案件侦破提供相应信息指引和佐证。随着痕迹检验理论和技术的丰富,近年来我国基层痕迹检验工作开展的效率和效果得到了明显的提升。但同时需要注意的是,现代化技术犯罪行为的增加以及罪犯反侦查技术的使用,使得基层痕迹检验工作面临的压力不断加大。因此,基层痕迹检验工作需要通过有效的创新加以推进,从而适应形势发展的要求。
