3月19日——中国国家主席习近平应约同俄罗斯总统普京通电话。习近平指出,中方愿同包括俄罗斯在内的各国一道,基于人类命运共同体理念,加强国际防疫合作,开展防控和救治经验分享,推动联合科研攻关,携手应对共同威胁和挑战,维护全球公共卫生安全。

Cooperation Under The BRI

During a high-level symposium on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) on November 19, President Xi Jinping issued a review of the initiative since its proposal in 2013 and also extended some further guidance on future endeavors. In the past eight years, countries along the BRI traversing Asia, Africa and Europe have benefited a lot from it. Particularly during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, relevant projects helped prop up regional economic growth as well as the world economy by large. Comparatively, Latin American and the Caribbean countries (LACs) have achieved far less than those immersed in the BRI collaborative network.     

A Message of Hope for a Stricken World

AN annual gathering of business people and government representatives from the Asia Pacific region and beyond each year at the B oao Forum for Asia in south China's Hainan Island is always an occasion to gain fresh insights into economic development in the region and the rest of the world.Since taking the helm of the country,President Xi Jinping has addressed the forum's annum conference multiple times.The theme of this year's conference is' A World in Change:Join Hands to Strengthen Global Governance and Advance Belt and tRoad Cooperation."In the backdrop of the major tensions between China and the U.S.and the economic disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic that has ravaged the world over the past year,President Xi,in his speech delivered at the opening ceremony of the 2021 conference,presented a pathway forward for the region and the world,based on cooperation and mutual respect between nations rather than on unilateral decisions of individual countries,while emphasizing the principle of extensive consulta-tion,joint contribution,and shared benefits.

While it does not bear aggressive traits, the Chinese nation will never allow any foreign force to "bully, oppress, or subjugate" it, Xi added.

Striving for Stability

Had it not been for the COVID-19 pandemic,Auckland, New Zealand's most populous city, would have been a busy place this month. Leaders, ministers and business communities from the 21 economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), including China, the U.S. and Russia, would have been gathering there to discuss the development and prosperity of the Asia-Pacific region. Instead, New Zealand, which currently holds the rotating presidency, has decided to hold all of this year's APEC meetings online, drawing together representatives from 11 time zones. APEC, established in 1989, is the highest-level intergovernmental economic cooperation platform in the region. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of China's joining the alliance. While addressing the 28th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting on November 12, Chinese President Xi Jinping said, "It has been three decades of deepening reform and opening up for China, and of broadening economic cooperation across the Asia-Pacific."

The Think Tank&Media Forum on Global Economic Development took place in Beijing on March 8.Themed"Exploring new measures for win-win cooperation,and sharing new achievements in global development,"the event,hosted by China International Publishing Group (CIPG),attracted both Chinese and international experts,who shared their thoughts on global economic recovery and global governance in the post-pandemic world.

The Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 officially launched on February 4,with Beijing hosting this year’s edition.With a total of 109 medal events across 15 disciplines,athletes from around the world gathered to compete in a mix of sports including bobsleigh,curling,skating,skiing and more.Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic,it proved an inspiring event,bringing hope to the many watching this year’s Games unfold as nations came together in solidarity.     

Building Synergy

The novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19)pandemic has dealt a devastating blow to the world order but it also reminds nations to explore new ways of survival and development.

本文旨在探讨两性面对新冠肺炎疫情时害怕、焦虑、担忧这些典型负面情绪的变化,以及疫情期间工作、家庭关系的变化对负面情绪影响的性别差异。借助2020年1月至3月在国内疫情上升期和下降期对同一批受访者的网络追踪调查,本文发现,虽然在疫情初期女性比男性表现出更多的负面情绪,但随着国内疫情趋于好转,女性负面情绪已降至与男性同一水平。疫情给女性工作带来的消极影响比男性大,这不利于女性负面情绪的改善;较之男性,女性负面情绪的改善更多受到家庭关系的影响,尤其是对于工作出现消极变化的女性,家庭关系的改善能够缓和工作损失对她们情绪的不利影响。
