To mark the 30th anniversary of China＇s reform and opening up, an academic symposium, organized by the China-Society Studies （CSHRS）, for Human Rights is now in session. The symposium is intended to review China＇s experiences in developing human rights over the past three decades, which we believe will be important to China＇s effort to promote, in an all- round way, the development of its human rights cause in the new situation. The Secret to China's Social Progress

正The State Council Information Office released a white paper on August 12 titled Moderate Prosperity in All Respects:Another Milestone Achieved in China' s Human Rights.Chiiia' s realization of moderate prosperity for all serves as a solid foundation for human rights,according to the white paper.It represents the comprehensive progress made in China,and a new contnbution to the world's human rights cause."China' s approach and experience have provided a distinctive path forward for human progress," it says.The Chinese people completed a historic transformation over the past decades,moving from poverty to secure access to food and clothing,to a decent life,and finally to moderate prosperity,mirroring the true meaning of human rights.

For Better Procuratorial Work to Protect Human Rights

The Chinese Constitution calls for respecting and protecting human rights. And accordingly, people＇s procuratorates across the country take judicial protection of human rights as their primary task. They are contributing to the development of China＇s human rights cause by getting involved in cracking down on crimes in violation of human rights while seeking to improve their own work.     

Tibet Human Rights Website Attracts Interest

With the arrival of the 50th anniversary of the putting down of a rebellion and democratic reforms in Tibet,China Society for Human Rights Studies launched a Tibet human fights website www.tibet 328.cn on March 30, 2009. This is China＇s first website with human rights in Tibet as its theme. The website has Chinese, English, French and German versions and covers more than 10 sections, respectively human fights conditions in Tibet, truths and facts, Tibetans, basic facts about Tibet, history and the serf system, literature, photos, videos, books and commentaries. The website, themed on ＂Human Rights in Tibet--from Serfs to Modern Citizens,＂ gives an account of Tibet＇s history, culture and serf system, narrates great changes in Tibet＇s human fights field, publishes facts and statistics about the history and existing conditions of human rights in Tibet and tells Tibet human rights stories.

Is There“Backsliding”in China's Human Rights?——On US-China Dispute over Human Rights

On March 30. 2004, the Information Office of the State Council of China issued a white paper entitled Progress in China's Human Rights Cause in 2003. This is the seventh white paper ever published by the Office to expound China's human rights conditions and its views since 1991, when it first issued Human Rights in China. China＇s first website focusing on Tibet human fights launches on March 9 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of democratic reforms in Tibet. This website, entitled Tibet Human Rights, is organized by the Chinese Society for Human Rights Studies. It introduces the history of Tibet systematically, shows great human rights progresses of democratic reforms and emancipation of millions of serfs in Tibet.
