试论制度的伦理价值

道德建设是一项复杂的社会系统工程,需要经济、政治、文化、尤其是合理制度的共同支撑。作为规范化、定型化的行为方式和交往关系结构,制度具有非常重要的伦理价值。本文主要从制度与道德建设的关系角度,从现代社会的规范整合,个体行为选择的约束、激励和引导,国家权力的监督等三个方面探讨制度的伦理价值问题。

试论汉语新词新语翻译原则及其翻译质量

近年来,随着我国政治、经济、科技、社会生活诸方面的急剧变化,一批又一新词新语应运而生。如此一来使得汉语新词翻译研究成为学界一个新的热点,汉语新词新语翻译实践也就成为新的增长点。目前我国的汉语新词新语翻译在取得良好成绩的同时,也存在着不少的问题。本文结合一些具体实例,就汉英新词新语翻译中经常出现的问题进行较为深入的探讨以期抛砖引玉。     

Asia and European colonialism

  The article reviews the effects of “colonial discourse” for the interpretation of national history in colonized Asian nations. Eurocentric perspectives in early Western narratives and historiography were followed by postcolonial myths termed “cultural nationalism” after independence. The native intelligentsia had acquired modern concepts of nation, nationalism, progress, welfare, democracy and technological modernity from their erstwhile colonial masters. Once the “democratic honeymoon” following independence had turned sour the artificially conceived myths of “cultural nationalism” served to justify various dictatorial regimes. Yet this ideology fails at it is presently being challenged by globalization, representing normative and economic pressures to orient towards the one single dominant pattern of Western liberal capitalism in all spheres.     

Testing for Individual Factors for the Fear of Crime Using a Multiple Indicator-Multiple Cause Model

In the extant literature, very few studies have simultaneously examined the impact of individual attributes, neighbourhood disorder and social cohesion on an individual’s fear of crime. This article addresses the use of multiple-indicator, multiple-cause (MIMIC) analysis for testing different variables related to the fear of crime based on a number of theories. Face-to-face interviews with residents of a high-crime council estate were conducted to examine the crime rate, disorder, cohesion and the fear of crime in the participants’ residential area. The results support the incivilities thesis and the vulnerability hypothesis, while the social disorganisation theory was partially supported. It was concluded that women and the elderly demonstrate higher levels of fear than men and the nonelderly and that crime, disorder and social cohesion have a direct effect on one’s level of fear, as the decreases in neighbourhood cohesion increase the individuals’ levels of fear. In addition, people who have been victimised and those who perceive higher levels of incivility were found to be more fearful of crime. By incorporating the three theories, the final model is able to account for 50 % of the variance in the fear of crime.     

An Exploration of the Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence and Job Performance in Police Organizations

The aim of the current study is to explore the relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance in a sample of 310 police officers. The results show significant correlations between EI levels and police job performance. After controlling for general mental abilities and personality traits, EI has been found to explain additional incremental variance in predicting police job performance. Applied implications of the findings for police organizations are discussed.     

Religious perspectives on umbilical cord blood banking

Umbilical cord blood is a valuable source of haematopoietic stem cells. There is little information about whether religious affiliations have any bearing on attitudes to and decisions about its collection, donation and storage. The authors provided information about umbilical cord blood banking to expert commentators from six major world religions (Catholicism, Anglicanism, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism) and asked them to address a specific set of questions in a commentary. The commentaries suggest there is considerable support for umbilical cord blood banking in these religions. Four commentaries provide moral grounds for favouring public donation over private storage. None attach any particular religious significance to the umbilical cord or to the blood within it, nor place restrictions on the ethnicity or religion of donors and recipients. Views on ownership of umbilical cord blood vary. The authors offer a series of general points for those who seek a better understanding of religious perspectives on umbilical cord blood banking.     

略论我国《公司法》中的转投资问题

公司转投资是一把双刃剑,既有助于增强公司的自治,最大限度地实现公司的人格和拓宽公司的盈利空间,也可能损害公司相关者的利益。我国2005年新修订的《公司法》在革故鼎新的基础上于第15、16条对此行为作了专门的规定。然这些规定仍显简约粗疏,不仅对转投资的一些决议程序与不当转投资效力的界定模糊不清,而且还缺乏相应的风险规制机制。因此,仍有必要在廓清相关问题上进一步完善我国的公司转投资制度。     

生态文明视阈下的民族文化融合

生态文明是科学发展观的重大理论成果,集中体现了中国特色社会主义社会的和谐本性,其涵盖的意义非常广泛,不断加强民族文化的融合应是其应有之意。加强民族文化必须要由经济主导转向环境主导,由政治推动转向生态共享推动,树立基于生态文明的核心价值观。     

The Pharmacokinetics of Morphine and Codeine in Human Plasma and Urine after Oral Administration of Qiangli Pipa Syrup

Papaveris pericarpium, a natural source of morphine and codeine, is the principal active component in many antitussive traditional Chinese medicines. We herein report the first PK study of papaveris pericarpium in human plasma and urine following oral administration of single (15, 30, 60 mL) and multiple dose (15 mL) of Qiangli Pipa Syrup (MOR 0.1 mg/mL, COD 0.028 mg/mL) by monitoring morphine and codeine using a HPLC‐MS/MS method. Their T_max and t_1/2 values are independent of dosages, while the AUC_0?t linearly increased with higher dosages, indicating linear PK characteristics. AUC_0?t increased obviously after multiple doses, indicating possible risk of accumulative toxicity. Urine studies suggested risks of positive opiate drug tests with a cutoff of 300 ng/mL, which lasted 6–14 h at different doses. These results provide important information for clinical safety, efficacy and rational drug use of Qiangli Pipa Syrup and also guide the related judicial expertise of its administration.
