SUMMARY

The present article discusses convents as homes. Resulting from the study of a Gregorian source presently housed at DePaul University's Richardson library, this article probes the complexities and restrictions of convent life in 17th century Spain. The Sanctoral de Visperas (1653) functions as a backdrop for a consideration of how singing chant and attendant rituals enriched the lives of nuns. Also included are references to nuns from this period who were outstanding musicians and poets and whose works have recently received enthusiastic attention.     

人皮肤成纤维细胞早期损伤后EDA-FN表达与损伤时间的关系

目的探讨培养的人体皮肤成纤维细胞损伤后纤维连接蛋白EDA片段的表达情况与损伤时间的关系。方法培养人体皮肤成纤维细胞,利用单克隆抗体进行免疫组织化学染色及Western检测。结果培养中的人体成纤维细胞可以微量表达EDA,随损伤时间延长而表达量增加。结论EDA片段表达变化可以作为法医学早期损伤时间推断的比较理想的指标。     

法治进程中的中国民法——纪念《民法通则》施行20周年

当今中国的法治进程,既可以将1979年启动的改革开放、恢复民主与法制建设视为开端,也可以以1982年宪法作为起点.然而,某种程度上说,1986年4月12日通过和公布、1987年1月1日正式施行的《民法通则》是其过程中的一个新里程碑,这是因为民法的出席对于这场法治进程具有独特的实质意义.按照康德的说法,民法是那种"不需要向外公布的法律的体系",[1]因而也是全部法律的内在基础,由此推导,民事立法实际便是对那种内在法律体系或者说法律内在基础的意识觉醒.所以,今天来回顾一下《民法通则》所开启的法治新历程以及民法在中国这20年法治建设中的独特贡献,是有必要的.从这里,我们也可以进一步思考一下民法和法治发展的未来取向.     

POTENTIAL EFFECTS OF PROPOSED PRICE GOUGING LEGISLATION ON THE COST AND SEVERITY OF GASOLINE SUPPLY INTERRUPTIONS

The rise in gasoline prices that followed the devastation causedby Hurricanes Rita and Katrina has led to proposals for federal"price gouging" legislation. This paper analyzes the potentialeconomic costs of such proposals in light of the experiencegained from prior episodes of gasoline supply interruptionsand efforts to impose price controls. Studies of previous spikesin the price of gasoline, including those after Katrina andRita, have consistently found that price increases were dueto the normal operation of supply and demand and not price manipulation.Studies of gasoline price controls find that neither consumersnor the economy benefit, because the apparent monetary savingsto consumers are transformed into costs of waiting or otherforms nonmarket rationing that exceed the monetary savings.Price controls also make shortages worse by reducing the incentiveto provide additional supplies. We apply these lessons to estimatethe additional economic cost that would have been incurred hadprice controls like current legislation been in effect afterthe hurricanes, and conclude that economic damages would havebeen increased by $1.5–2.9 billion during the two-monthperiod of price increases.     

The promise of primary prevention home visiting programs: a review of potential outcomes

Home visitation (HV) is a promising service delivery model, despite a history of mixed documented results. Compiling results on the promising family and child development outcomes in the HV literature has utility for current programs and those under development. We review traditional outcomes (e.g., child maltreatment prevention) from the literature on HV, but we also present nontraditional outcomes (e.g., community connection) that may be relevant for future evaluations. Programs that document their implementation and study their outcomes through a thoughtful, planned process may capture important and much needed information on strengthening families through HV.     

Allele frequencies of 15 STR loci of Tibetan lived in Tibet Lassa

Allele frequency data for 15 Short Tandem Repeat (STR) loci included in the AmpFl STR Identifiler kit were obtained from a sample of 196 healthy unrelated individuals of Tibetan born in Lassa of Tibet Autonomy Region of China (SW China). The distribution of these observed genotypes were not significantly different from the expected distribution according to Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium.

传统节日文化承载着我国悠久的历史文化,是中华民族上千年历史的结晶。在大众传媒发挥日益强大的社会影响力的今天,媒体已经成为人类生活的一种镜像反映。本文通过对媒体关于传统节日文化的报道(包括广告)作实证分析,剖析媒体报道(包括广告)中政府、企业商家、市民以及媒体自身对待传统节日文化的态度及其行为,从而揭示出中国传统节日在大众传媒中的呈现样态,找出传统节日的文化留存及其在民众中的影响力日渐衰微与大众传媒的报道偏颇之间的关系。
