The processing of the results of chemical toxicological research using microcalculators

Three programs for computer microcalculators "Elektronika MK-52", "Elektronika MK-54", "Elektronika MK-56", "Elektronika MK-61", and "Elektronika BZ-34" were studied. The first program allows one to calculate degree of substance extraction and rate of its distribution between two liquid unmixing phases; the second program is used for calculations on substance distribution in the organs of laboratory animals; the third program helps to calculate specific and molar rates of light absorption. Programs may be used in mathematical processing of results obtained in scientific research.     

The methodological basis of expert assessment of unfavourable outcomes of the stomatological treatment in the framework of civil law proceedings

The authors discuss peculiarities of the performance of forensic medical expertise in the cases of unfavourable outcomes of the stomatological treatment. The methodological basis of expert assessment has been created to be applied in situations related to the unfavourable outcomes of dental care.

The history of the Department of Forensic Medicine of I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University is highlighted based on the results of the studies of the relevant literature data and archival materials. The authors lay special emphasis on the organization of the teaching process and research at different stages of the development of the Department, scientific and forensic medical activities of its leading specialists, materials obtained in the course of research, and the contribution to the development of forensic medicine made by outstanding scientists.     

Forensic medical assessment of the mechanisms of development of gunshot lesions caused by elastic destructive agents

This paper reports the results of analysis of the data obtained in experimental studies and practical expert assessments of body injuries inflicted by rubber balls for traumatic weapons. The causes accounting for the polymorphism of such injuries and the mechanisms of their development were elucidated by means of damage simulation taking into consideration the physical and dynamic properties of elastic ball-type destructive agents and the morphological structure of different anatomical regions of the human body. The results of the study may be of interest for differential diagnostics of gunshot lesions caused by elastic destructive agents.
