Associations among bullying, peer victimization, sexual harassment, and dating violence were examined among 684 middle and
high school students. Cluster analysis of self-report measures revealed four distinct bully-victim subtypes: uninvolved, victims,
bully-victims, and bullies. African-American students comprised the bully cluster more than White students, but did not report
higher rates of dating violence or peer sexual harassment. Bully-victims reported significantly more physical dating violence
victimization than members of all other groups, and more emotional abuse in dating relationships than uninvolved students
and victims. Bully-victims and victims also reported the highest amount of peer sexual harassment. Anxiety/depression levels
were highest among victims and bully-victims. Sexual harassment and dating violence experiences moderated the association
between bully-victim subtype and anxiety/depression. That is, victims with the highest levels of sexual harassment and victims
and bully-victims with the highest levels of dating violence reported the highest levels of anxiety/depression. Findings highlight
the high-risk nature of the bully-victim group and the importance of assessing multiple forms of victimization affecting youth.

Theoretical and empirical work on collaboration has proliferated in the last decade. The authors’ 2006 article on designing and implementing cross‐sector collaborations was a part of, and helped stimulate, this growth. This article reviews the authors’ and others’ important theoretical frameworks from the last decade, along with key empirical results. Research indicates how complicated and challenging collaboration can be, even though it may be needed now more than ever. The article concludes with a summary of areas in which scholarship offers reasonably settled conclusions and an extensive list of recommendations for future research. The authors favor research that takes a dynamic, multilevel systems view and makes use of both quantitative and qualitative methods, especially using longitudinal comparative case studies. 相似文献

Interrogation techniques are well explored, but in Slovenia it has remained unknown what interrogation techniques are used and what the basic characteristics of suspect interrogations are. The Slovenian interrogation manual proposes some coercive interrogation techniques and neglects their weaknesses. The aim of the current study was to examine Slovenian police officers’ beliefs as to the basic characteristics of their interrogations and whether techniques proposed by the manual are used in practice to begin to provide some insight into what actually happens in such interrogations. A survey instrument was used to obtain self-report data from a sample of criminal investigators. From 86 completed questionnaires it was found that a typical interrogation of a suspect lasts around 90 minutes and is not recorded. Interviewers typically use three interrogation techniques namely (i) conducting interrogations in isolation; (ii) identifying contradictions in the suspect's story; and (iii) confronting the suspect with evidence. Findings suggest that some coercive interrogation techniques are used in practice (e.g. offering moral justifications, alluding to have evidence of guilt, good cop/bad cop routine, and minimization). The study is the first insight into the practices of Slovenian investigators when questioning suspects. Differences among general, white-collar and organized crime investigators are also discussed. 相似文献

Corporate governance has long been a feature of the arts and cultural sector and is a requirement for all cultural organisations seeking public funding, regardless of their size. However, despite the ubiquity of corporate governance in the arts and cultural sector, there is little research addressing the experiences of managers. This study examines the experiences of managers in performing arts organisations in working with their boards, based on data collected across 20 performing arts organisations in Australia using a stakeholder salience lens. Our results indicate that while the board is seen as a key organisational stakeholder, managers have a range of concerns about the governance role of boards, and in particular their limited effectiveness on the dimensions of legitimacy and urgency. We find that arts managers often must wrestle with competing agendas around creative autonomy and the low‐risk appetite of their management boards. Our findings highlight the need to re‐align, particularly in small‐ and medium‐sized organisations, the organisational needs of arts managers with corporate governance arrangements, without detracting from creative endeavours. 相似文献

Research indicates that social support plays a protective role among adolescents, but little research has explicitly evaluated
its function among youth involved in bullying. Accordingly, this study examined relations among social support, bully/victim
status, and psychological distress in a sample of 784 ethnically diverse youth. We assessed differences in perceived social
support across bully/victim subtypes, and evaluated peer and maternal social support as protective factors among victims,
bullies, and bully-victims. Youth were classified as uninvolved (61.6%), as bullies (14.3%), as victims (12.5%), and as bully-victims
(11.6%). Uninvolved youth reported the most peer and maternal social support and the least anxiety/depression. Multivariate
analyses revealed that there was a significant interaction between bully/victim groups and peer social support. Specifically,
bullies, victims, and bully-victims who reported moderate peer social support also indicated the least anxiety/depression.
Results highlight the importance of encouraging youth to develop and effectively use peer support networks as part of bullying
intervention programs.

To examine whether disproportionate minority contact (DMC) exists in the Netherlands, the representation of minority youth was determined for all stages of the juvenile justice system. Using native Dutch youth as a reference group, the odds ratios (OR) to be registered and arrested as suspect, for alternative punishment and for incarceration, were calculated for the minority youth. In all stages of the juvenile justice system, the ORs for minority youths were considerably higher, except for alternative punishment, having lower ORs. This indicates that DMC exists in the Netherlands. DMC should be politicized and programs should be developed to eliminate this inequality. 相似文献

There is little disagreement about the importance of a healthy stable workforce in promoting effective provision of child welfare services. This review proposes a multi-level conceptual model of child welfare workforce turnover combining traditional individual and organizational impacts with factors associated with community context. Identified gaps in the literature along with a related research agenda are reviewed. Also presented is an overview of the Florida Study of Professionals for Safe Families, a longitudinal study of new hires into the child welfare workforce across Florida, providing opportunities to address gaps and test model characteristics regarding turnover decisions and related outcomes. 相似文献
