The localization of A and B antigens in the organs of blood group AB individuals has been studied using a double immunoenzymatic labeling method. Both A and B antigens were found in the various epithelial cells of these organs, but the epithelial cells could be classified into the following four types depending on the reaction pattern with anti-A and anti-B sera: type 1: cells that stained positive with both anti-A and anti-B sera; type 2: cells that stained positive with anti-A serum only; type 3: cells that stained positive with anti-B serum only; type 4: cells that were negative with both sera. The distribution of each of these epithelial cell types varied considerably, even in the same tissue and individual. Our results seem to suggest that a dissociation in the conversion to the A and B antigens occurs in the tissue of individuals belonging to blood group AB and that the degree of this dissociation varies from tissue to tissue and from cell to cell.  相似文献

A simple and rapid method for quantitation of tropane alkaloids in biological materials has been developed using an Extrelut column with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Biological materials (serum and urine) were mixed with a borate buffer and then applied to an Extrelut column. The adsorbed tropane alkaloids were eluted with dichloromethane before a GC-MS analysis. Atropine-d(3) was used as an internal standard. The extracted tropane alkaloids were converted to trimethylsilyl derivatives prior to GC analysis, to improve the instability of tropane alkaloids from heating and the property of them for a GC column. The recoveries of the compounds, which had been spiked to biological materials, were more than 80%. The GC separation of the derivatives from endogenous impurities was generally satisfactory with the use of a semi-polar capillary column. Tropane alkaloids showed excellent linearity in the range of 10-5000 ng/ml and the limit of detection was 5.0 ng/ml for biological materials. The present method is simple and more rapid than those previously reported, and was applied to a poisoning case. It is useful for the routine analysis of tropane alkaloids in cases of suspected tropane alkaloids poisoning.  相似文献

The severity of pulmonary fat embolism in 5 autopsied cases has been measured using a quantitative image analytical system. With reference to the mean size of the fat emboli, the cases were divided into 2 groupings regardless of the number of the emboli. The mean sizes of the emboli in 3 cases of the first group were significantly larger (about 490-600 microns 2) than those found in the 2 cases of the other group (about 220 and 235 microns 2). An investigation into the localization of fat emboli revealed that more were lodging in the small arteries and arterioles in the first group than in the second. Our results have indicated that a reliable grading of pulmonary fat embolism can not be established without a quantitative image analysis of the size and localization of the fat emboli, and that this quantitative analytical method is useful in achieving this reliable grading.  相似文献

Traffic accidents are the most common cause of blunt pancreatic trauma, and most injuries occur in unrestrained drivers. Blunt pancreatic trauma in a passenger or a restrained driver is rare. In this report, we describe a case of blunt pancreatic trauma caused by a restraint system for wheelchair users during a traffic accident.  相似文献

Reported is a simple and reliable method for identifying the presence of gastric fluid in forensic samples by an assay that reveals the pepsin activity. These samples are usually vomit found at the scene of a crime, either in fresh form or as a dried stain on clothing. The pepsin within the sample is assayed for its proteolytic activity which is revealed in a fibrin blue-agarose gel plate, as a result of an enzymatic reactivity that takes the form of a concentric, blue, translucent ring around the tested sample. Apart from being able to determine the pepsin content of fresh or recent forensic samples, this method has also achieved positive reactions in aged gastric fluid stains that were kept at room temperature. No body fluids other than the gastric fluid and no proteolytic enzymes other than pepsin show a positive reaction with the use of this method. This method has an additional advantage, in that the enzymatic activity seen on the gel plate can be photographed and the gel plate, on drying, can also be preserved as evidence.  相似文献

A female driver, 24 weeks pregnant, was wearing a three-point seatbelt in the manner usual for nonpregnant women, when her automobile collided head-on with another vehicle. A cardiotocographic examination after the accident revealed the fetus to be alive. Five days after the accident, however, a cardiotocographic examination showed fetal death. At that time, a transverse ecchymotic band on the lower abdominal wall that had not been observed at the first examination was noticed. Eight days after the accident, the mother delivered a macerated female fetus. At autopsy, the baby showed no abnormality, but there was a hematoma on the placental surface toward the uterus. These results suggest that the fetus died of abruptio placentae associated with incorrect placement of the lap belt.  相似文献
