Cross border North Korean women trafficking and victimization between North Korea and China: An ethnographic case study

This is a case study on the trafficking of North Korean women via the interviewing of women trafficking victims. The study has an explorative nature. Its primary goal is to address the issues of the cross-border trafficking of North Korean women. In doing so, this research will describe the current picture of cross-border North Korean women trafficking operation between North Korea and China. It will uncover the identity and characteristics of traffickers, the identity and characteristics of victims and contributing factors of their victimization, and the cross-border trafficking routes and procedural networks of trafficking operation. The findings of the current study shows that the problem of North Korean women trafficking is worth being paid attention by the international community and that appropriate counter-measures need to be implemented. Also, this study hopes to facilitate more empirical research on this topic.

21世纪美国政治学的新革命

自20世纪50年代政治学行为主义革命兴起以来,美国政治学越来越追求科学化的研究方法,尤其是从经济学中产生的理性选择理论、博弈论、数量统计等方法从20世纪80年代以来逐渐在政治学中占据了统治地位,即使是新制度主义的兴起也没有改变政治学这种追求科学化、数量化的倾向.直到2000年,一封电子邮件的批评向美国政治学这种过分追求科学化的状况提出了挑战,这个挑战很快引发了美国政治学在21世纪之初的一场新革命.     

对未成年人犯罪处罚措施的思考

在刑罚种类的应用上,对未成年人不宜适用剥夺政治权利、罚金、没收财产等附加刑。在具体刑罚执行上要注重把握未成年人犯罪年龄的差别,扩大缓刑和非刑罚处理方法的适用范围．并对未成年人犯罪的假释、减刑应作特别规定。     

论外资经济产业风险的产生及防范

从产业结构角度考察外资风险,主要有区域经济控制力风险、产业结构失衡风险、本土产业自主创新受阻风险和外商减(撤)资风险等。我国外资集聚区产业风险产生的症结在于不合理的产业结构,而形成原因既有国际生产体系变革因素,也有我国经济结构转换和地方政府的引资偏好等因素。化解和防范外资产业风险的主要途径,应通过借助引进外资研发等高附加值的产业,启动价值链向高端攀升机制,带动产业结构调整并优化;同时通过发展区域服务经济、改变招商模式和加快政府的管理创新等措施,加快这种过程,从根本上达到规避风险之目的。

晚清“新法家”的“新法治主义”

在晚清的特定时势与学术背景之下,出现了章太炎、梁启超、沈家本等"新法家",他们反对传统上对法家的不合理批评与抨击,大力为法家平反正名,称赞法家的历史功绩,用"法治"或"法治主义"来认知和解读法家思想,并在此基础上开出"新法治主义"。这一开新,具有重要的思想、学术意义。     

Youth and parental attitudes toward fighting

Certain parenting behaviors have been linked with youth aggression and violence, but less is known about whether parents' attitudes toward fighting are a risk factor for children's aggressive behavior problems and future injury risk. Social cognitive theory suggests that parents' beliefs about fighting and retaliation may influence their children's attitudes toward fighting and aggression. The authors examined the associations among parental and youth attitudes toward fighting, parent-child relationships, and youth aggressive behavior in adolescents at great risk for future interpersonal violence. Data came from 72 parents and their adolescents (aged 12 to 17 years, 89% African American), who presented to an emergency department for youth's assault-related injuries. Analyses revealed an association between parents' and youth's attitudes toward fighting. Youth's and parents' attitudes were positively correlated with aggressive behavior, fighting, and school suspension. Parents' attitudes predicted youth's aggressive behavior, even after controlling for youth's attitudes. The findings suggest that interventions for high-risk youth should target the fighting-related attitudes of both parents and youth.     

A forensic pathological study of eighty-two cases of adrenal hemorrhage

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the relationship between adrenal hemorrhage and the cause of death, age and gender. METHODS: Eighty-two cases of adrenal hemorrhage were statistically analyzed. RESULTS: Adrenal hemorrhage occurred mostly in cases of sudden death, infection, trauma and asphyxia. Male had more chance than female to have adrenal hemorrhage. Adrenal hemorrhage caused by sudden death, trauma and poisoning was more frequently seen in young adults, whereas adrenal hemorrhage in children as well as in fetus and newborns was often caused by infection as well as sudden death and asphyxia respectively. Adrenal hemorrhage caused by sudden death and asphyxia was mainly located in medulla, while the infection usually induced hemorrhage in cortex. Adrenal hemorrhage caused by trauma showed an equal opportunity in either the cortex or medulla. CONCLUSION: Our data indicate that adrenal hemorrhage might provide some clues in searching for the cause of death.     

Diasporan students social entrepreneurship intention: The moderating role of institutional support

The daunting global challenges saddling polities and governments alike have resultantly created a situation whereby governments and corporate civil society have inadvertently reneged on delivering public good and services to citizens. In ensuring and strengthening a public–private actor synergy, with particular emphasis on leveraging acquired knowledge and skills of diaspora‐based students, social entrepreneurship activities could be harnessed to provide sustainable remedies to social challenges such as unemployment, famine amongst others by utilizing social entrepreneurship as a tool. Using the theory of planned behaviour as a theoretical framework, the study elicited data from 322 respondents to empirically investigate determinants of social entrepreneurship intentions of Ghanaian students, with the moderating role of institutional support. Study results revealed that sense of social responsibility and service learning have significant relationship with social entrepreneurship intention. However, social volunteering experience had no significant relationship. Moreover, whereas attitude to social entrepreneurship intention demonstrated a positive relationship, institutional support as a moderator was also revealed to influence the relationship between attitude and social entrepreneurship intention. From the study findings, we discourse on the implications for social entrepreneurship in Ghana to policy makers and stakeholders.
