由于歌德这个“世界文学”的肇始者并没有对“世界文学”进行界定，而马克思、恩格斯也没有对“世界文学”的具体内涵做出说明，从而导致后世研究者关于“世界文学”提出了各种看法和主张。在一个“世界性”与“民族性”分别都需要重视的“全球化”时代，我们需要拥有一种“世界性”的眼光，抓住机遇，努力建设“民族文学”。
