中美亚太战略竞争格局的形成、走势及管控

当前,在亚太特别是东亚和西太平洋地区,中美两国形成的竞争与合作并存且以竞争一面呈上升趋势的战略两强格局日渐明朗化。在该格局形成的过程中,中美两国综合实力对比的变化以及由此带来的核心利益调整属于结构性动因;两国国内政治因素以及中美之外第三方因素的复杂影响,进一步加速该格局的形成过程,构成了非结构性动因。伴随着中国综合国力急速腾升与美国国家实力相对衰落的结构性背景,中美亚太战略竞争关系中的缓和空间将进一步压缩,而其竞争空间将在经济、安全、政治、军事等领域全面展开。推动中美竞争机制呈现良性互动而非恶性循环,美国需放弃固守的霸权思维,适度分享责任与权力;中国也需给予更多耐心与定力。     

新加坡:2016年经济回顾与2017年展望

2016年,新加坡经济呈低速和缓慢增长态势,经济增速、主要产业、对外贸易及投资均出现不同程度的下降,就业形势日益严峻.在此背景下,新加坡多举措促进企业发展,积极参与国际经济合作,推动重大国际项目建设,并成立未来经济委员会以保障经济稳定发展.2017年,在政府多种措施的刺激下,新加坡经济将保持低速稳定发展,但仍充满不确定性.     

The Education Gap of China’s Migrant Children and Rural Counterparts

Rural residents in China today face at least two key decisions: a) where to live and work; and b) where to send their children to school. In this paper we study the second decision: should a rural parent send their child to a public rural school or have him or her attend a private migrant school in the city. While there is an existing literature on the impact of this decision on student academic performance, one of the main shortcomings of current studies is that the data that are used to analyse this issue are not fully comparable. To fill the gap, we collected data on the educational performance of both migrant students who were born in and come from specific source communities (prefecture) in rural China and students who are in rural public schools in the same source communities. Specifically, the dataset facilitates our effort to measure and identity the academic gap between the students in private migrant schools in Shanghai and Suzhou and those in the public rural schools in Anhui. We also seek to identify different sources of the gap, including selection effects and observable school quality effects. According to the results of the analysis, there is a large gap. Students in public rural schools outperform students in private migrant schools by more than one standard deviation (SD). We found that selection effects only account for a small part of this gap. Both school facility effects and teacher effects explain the achievement gap of the students from the two types of schools, although these effects occur in opposite directions.     

Reproducibility of Artificial Cut on Heel Area of Rubber Outsole

Randomly acquired characteristics (RAC) are seldom used for exclusion in footwear examinations because they can disappear owing to wear. To help examiners explain discrepancies in RAC, this study investigated the reproducibility of cuts. One cut was made on the heel area of each shoe outsole and then measured. Changes in cuts were statistically evaluated, correlations between their variations and the weight/height of the subject were assessed, and the Support Vector Machine was used for the first time to study their discrimination probability. Most cuts became larger at first and then became smaller. The solidities of most cuts increased after 21 days, and the variation in the cut and the subject's weight/height were negatively correlated. Although the discrimination probability declined as the cut aged, 77% of the same-source and 96.88% of the different-source cuts could be identified correctly after 6 months, indicating that cuts on the heel area are relatively reliable.

Improving the Health and Education of Elementary Schoolchildren in Rural China: Iron Supplementation Versus Nutritional Training for Parents

Abstract

We report on the results of a randomised controlled trial conducted among over 2,000 children in 60 elementary schools in rural Shaanxi Province, North-west China. We find that providing children with daily iron supplements for six months improved children’s haemoglobin levels and standardised maths scores. In comparison, educating parents about nutrition and anaemia in a special parents meeting produced a modest impact on children’s haemoglobin levels. We also find heterogeneous intervention effects by children’s gender, anaemia status and boarding status. Overall, iron supplementation is more effective. However, given its low cost and simple implementation, parental education should still be considered.     

消费主义时代中国传媒的文化表现

根据“传播与文化同构”的原理,媒介的生存与发展状态均是特定时期的文化表现;尽管媒介的发展遵循政治、市场、技术、历史等方方面面逻辑,但其中内在的逻辑是文化逻辑。后工业化社会的一个重要的特征就是浮现的消费主义社会。消费资本主义的活力在于它将物质消费转化为一种意识形态意义的美学消费。随着中国加入WTO,中国新闻事业领域的开放与改革,起源于西方社会尤其是战后美国社会中的消费主义正在渗透中国城乡社会的日常生活领域。中国传媒的发展顺应着消费主义文化逻辑,表现出四个特点:平民化(大众化)、生活化、时尚化和全球化。针对这一现象,本文提出了中国传媒文化应该具有的价值取向:反抗奴役与异化。     

论权利文化与政治文明

权利文化是以权利为本位的价值体系,它的生成与发展提升了政治文明,保障权利是政治文明的现实关切,肯定与尊重人的价值则是政治文明的终极关怀。现今中国权利文化的营造对于社会主义政治文明的建设至关重要。     

国际关系的心理分析方法

国际关系理论的发展之路一直是融各学科之所长,避本学科之所短的历程,众多学科在该领域内都找到了一席之地。在当今时代,当主流国际关系理论日益走向体系层次的建构时,微观国际心理分析的解释力有多大,国际关系学与心理学是如何结合的,针对这些问题,本文尝试进行初步分析,并寻求出两个学科的结合点和可供进一步探讨的线索,进而期待从理论和实践上对国际关系理论分析的方法进行丰富和延展。
