Sugaring off: enduring insights from long-term research on environmental governance

This article presents the results of an effort to identify the most important contributions I have been able to make in the course of a lifetime of thinking about the roles that social institutions play in governing human–environment relations. Some of the resultant propositions are general in the sense that they apply to environmental governance at all levels of social organization. Others are specific to the international level or to what we generally think of as international environmental governance. The basic message is that institutions are important determinants of human–environment relations but that they typically operate in conjunction with a variety of other drivers in a pattern best described as complex causation. As we move deeper into the Anthropocene, an era characterized by human domination of biophysical systems, the need to improve our understanding of environmental governance has become increasingly urgent.

当今,高校周边环境日趋复杂,存在诸多安全隐患,这不仅严重影响了高校师生正常的学习、工作和生活,更不利于塑造大学生的健康人格以及树立正确的人生观、价值观和世界观。针对高校周边环境的不良因素,高校应加强大学生安全教育和管理,培养大学生的安全意识和安全技能。     

‘New politics’ in Finland: The greens and the left wing in the 1990s

This article examines the development of two Finnish political parties (the Green Association and the Left‐Wing Alliance) from a ‘New Politics’ perspective, focusing on changes in their electoral, programmatic and organisational profiles, with emphasis on the composition and value‐related features of their electorates in 1991, 1995 and 1999. The results confirm the position of the Greens as the prime representative of New Politics; but the party has moved away from its anti‐establishment role and its supporters increasingly share the social and attitudinal characteristics of the average electorate. The UNA, on the other hand, has moved towards a New Politics profile and a gradual dealignment of its old male‐dominated working class electorate; but its central characteristics and its supporters are still firmly entrenched in an old leftist format.

弗兰克认为人与神在精神上的那种无法分割的联系就是"神人性"。其核心思想是:当人清醒地意识到经验存在的不完善和人类个体在世界存在的悲剧性状态时,形而上学地理解存在是一种万物统一的和谐,存在是一种以绝对精神和绝对神圣为基础的结合,是人的一种本质性的设定。弗兰克坚持人格的独立性、人的价值和尊严的思想,不承认神的绝对超越性,也反对自我中心主义,认为神人之间的相似性具有绝对意义,它突出了人是作为一种尊严而存在的那种最高思想。     

大学资源共享课对现行公安教育的影响

2013年6月,首批大学资源共享课正式向高校学子和社会公众免费开放,这正是现代信息技术飞速发展形势下,教育教学模式的发展方向.大学资源共享课的迅猛来袭,势必会对公安高等教育产生深远影响.本研究基于这样一个背景,从公安院校学生、教师和教学模式三个研究视角来谈大学资源共享课对现行公安教育的影响:大学资源共享课能提高公安院校学生的学习兴趣并强化其知识掌握程度,能提高公安院校教师的教学、科研水平,能促进未来公安教育实现教学大联盟.     

我国表演艺术非营利组织制度发展探究

财务困境是所有演艺组织面临的共同难题,中国的文艺院团更有着体制的约束.在表演艺术领域广泛采取非营利组织的方式构造市场主体是国际的共同经验,这不仅是因为非营利组织具有组织性、自治性、非营利性、利润不可分配约束等基本特征,更重要的是,非营利组织的制度设计形成了较强的激励,吸引资本和人力资本对艺术发展进行投资.因此,建议中国完善表演艺术非营利组织免税资格认定、准入、捐赠等法律,明确营利和非营利院团的权利责任,促进院团分化为营利和非营利组织形式.     

Riots in the UK: Morality,Social Imaginaries,and Conditions of Possibility

This article explores the controversies provoked by two recent exhibits in which People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) draws analogies between animal exploitation and the Holocaust and slavery. PETA's comparisons between the plight of animals and that of Jews and blacks are transgressive insofar as they disrupt settled notions of species difference by challenging the sacrosanct moral divide between humans and animals, and insofar as they do this by re-connecting race and species difference in a historically charged way. In the end, the controversies over PETA's exhibits raise difficult questions about the intersection of race and species as hierarchical categories ordering social life, what comparisons are “inadmissible” and why, and the responsibilities or obligations one social justice struggle might be said to have toward other struggles.
