Determination of death mechanisms in forensic-medical examination of a corpse

Applied aspects of multivalued and modal logics served the basis for the proposed algorithm of tanatological analysis of autopsy material including formalization of semiquantitative data on changes in vital organs with further conversion of the estimated tanatogenetic coefficients in the form of probability suggestions leading to the conclusion about the kind and speed of tanatogenesis. The method is illustrated by cases from expert practice.     

A study of cadaveric mycobiota at the late stages of post-mortem changes within the forensic-medical verification of death coming and of bury place

Data are described on the late stages of fungus populating in cadaveric remains (soil and other fungi). By week 2 after bury, the soil fungi grow through the cloths and skin of cadaver with the species mycobiotic composition of remains corresponding, on the whole, to a bury place. The woodland soils are distinguished through a more diversified species composition and total mycobiotic content, which can be valuable in establishing the fact and route of transfers of cadaver or of its remains even at late cadaveric changes.     

The forensic-biochemical diagnosis of different-genesis hypoxic conditions in cadavers of newborns and babies

Some parameters of anaerobic glycolysis were examined in trauma and hypoxia of different types. Statistically reliable differences were detected in the level of glucose in blood, of glycogen and of lactic acid as well as in the activity of lactatodrogenases in the liver and cardiac and skeleton muscles as observed in different-type hypoxia versus trauma. Diagnosis criteria were designed for the diagnosis of hypoxic conditions in newborns and babies.     

Features of asymmetry of paired sizes of the lower jaw as applied to osteologic human identification

The article contains craniometric data of 50 lower jaws. An asymmetry of twin sizes of the lower jaw as applicable to the tasks of osteologic personality identification is evaluated.     

Determination of hair group by preserved hair cell bulbs

Difficulties appearing in determining hair group were the reason for conducting this research for the purpose of finding additional possibilities to solve the mentioned problem. It was established that the preliminary cell coloring, related with determination of hair sex, does not influence a consequent detection of antigens. Methods or the fixation of material were selected. The most suitable reagents and their titers as well as different time periods of absorption for detecting antigens A and B are offered. All stages of examination are described in detail.     

On some peculiarities of stab wounds

The article deals with the differential diagnosis of stab injuries inflicted upon by cylindrical and conic objects with a round cross-section and with a point-shaped and cross-shaped stings as well as by sharp three-edged objects. An analysis of the obtained data leads to the conclusion on a possibility of carrying out the group identification of the mentioned stab objects according to morphological specific features of injuries.
