NEGLECTED INFANTS IN FAMILY COURT

This paper applies the science of early childhood development to the question of neglect in infancy to offer best practice guidance to family law and child protection professionals charged with acting in their best interest. The paper discusses the challenges of presenting cases of infant neglect, particularly emotional neglect, to the court. Current science on the implications of neglect for brain development, and long term mental health are discussed. Recommendations for assessment, intervention and questions that should be addressed in court deliberations are outlined.

创新社会管理是党和政府的重点工作,工会组织作为社会管理格局中的重要参与者和协同者,必须要参与社会管理并在其中发挥独特作用.我国工会参与社会管理既有一定的理论依据、法律依据,也有现实依据和自身组织优势与工作机制优势,更有党和国家的重视与支持.工会组织应当从现代社会管理的特点和规律出发,以争取和实现职工社会权利、构建和谐劳动关系为主线,选择参与社会管理的路径,发挥出工会组织在创新社会管理中的应有作用.     

努力践行科学发展观 做好经济统战“六篇文章”

科学发展观作为中国特色社会主义理论体系的重要组成部分,作为我国经济社会发展的重要指导方针,作为发展中国特色社会主义必须长期坚持和贯彻的重大战略思想,为新世纪新阶段统一战线工作指明了方向。近年来广西经济领域统战工作按照科学发展观的要求,以求新务实的作风,紧紧抓住广西千载难逢的发展机遇,整合全区统一战线的力量,着力做好"六篇文章",为促进经济发展,特别是非公有制经济又好又快发展服务。     

COMMENTARY ON "EMPIRICAL AND ETHICAL PROBLEMS WITH CUSTODY RECOMMENDATIONS:"

Whether or not custody evaluators, testifying as expert witnesses, continue to make specific custody recommendations, custody decision making will continue to be based upon inadequate and untested evidence unless and until we reform the family court system in American courtrooms. Judges and lawyers must have specialized knowledge and training about such things as the developmental needs of children, the effects of divorce on children, domestic violence, and child safety issues; lawyers must develop litigation as well as mediation and negotiation skills; specialized family courts utilizing individual calendars and case management techniques must be established; and the complexities and intellectual challenges of family law cases needs to be recognized.     

重视发挥民营企业在构建社会主义和谐社会中的作用

为深入了解我国民营企业对企业社会责任的认识,分析民营企业在构建和谐社会中的作用,课题组先后赴浙江省杭州、温州、台州、湖州等市,对20余家企业进行实地考察,并向87家民营企业发放调查问卷,与部分企业和政府部门进行座谈。通过调查与研讨,形成如下调研报告。一、浙江民营企业履行社会责任的现状和特点(一)民营企业对承担社会责任有较高的重视程度。在企业问卷调查中“民营企业是否应承担重要的社会责任”一栏,统计的86家企业中,选择“应该承担”的有48家,选择“应该承担”和“适当承担”的10家,选择“适当承担”的26家,以上企业占被调查…
