日本进一步完善公司法律制度

<正> 日本不断完善公司法律制度,国会于去年6月4日通过了两项法律修正案,即“修改商法等一部分的法律”和“关于伴随修改商法等一部分的法律而整备相关法律的法律”(以下简称“整备法”)。两部法律已于去年10月1日起生效。 日本的商法制定于1900年,近一百年来已先后修改24次,曾有6年连续每年修改一次,可见日本很重视对法律的修改。 日本的商法共4编851条,其中第2编为公司,共7章448条。日本这次所谓的修改商法,实际上是对公司部分的修改。这次修改的条文近30个(仅指商法典),涉及的款项50余个,新增条款近20个(以×条之几的形式),还删除或合并了几个款项。

The Party of Democratic Socialism in the new Germany

The Party of Democratic Socialism's electoral prowess reflects the success other reformed communist parties are having with voters disillusioned with the changes since 1989. This article seeks to explain why it is doing so well, what kind of people are drawn to it, and what its success tells us about the new eastern political culture and the consequences of unification. Its future prospects depend on how quickly the two parts of Germany become integrated and how effectively the other parties respond to eastern Germans' feelings. PDS success is a product of eastern German attitudes and conditions. It thrives on the tensions between east and west and on east Germans asserting their determination to be different from west Germans. But it will experience difficulty in continuing to derive its identity from a mixture of nostalgia for certain aspects of the GDR and animosity toward western Germans. With its path to western voters blocked, with growing intraparty disunity, and with a leader absorbed by charges that he had been a Stasi collaborator, the PDS faces a serious struggle to survive in the 21st century as a long-term significant political force.     

禽鸟源传染性腔上囊病病毒分离株对鸡的致病性试验

用鸡、鸭、麻雀３种不同源性传染性腔上囊病病毒（ＩＢＤＶ）分离株人工感染８０日龄的ＳＰＦ鸡，初步试验发现，这些病毒均能使接种鸡的腔上囊明显萎缩，组织切片见淋巴滤泡萎缩、坏死，从人工感染的鸡腔上囊组织中可检测和分离到ＩＢＤＶ。各试验组的腔上囊指数平均值分别为：鸡２８３，鸭３１４，麻雀３６４，对照组５１１。经统计学分析（ｔ检验）３个攻毒组与对照组间均有显著差异。     

Revenue Strategy on the Gold Coast: The Case of Stamford, Connecticut

This study investigates the effects of federal policy and budgetchanges during the Reagan years as well as the revenue strategiesof governmental and private, nonprofit agencies in Stamford,Connecticut. Systematic examination of agency budgets and interviewswith agency directors in 1982 found widespread anxiety aboutpossible revenue decline, but few departures from traditionalrevenue strategies. In Stamford, federal changes produced revenueproblems for only a few agencies, most of which went about "businessas usual" and did not experience a budget crisis. This situationremained unchanged in late 1985.     

Environmental management and street-level regulators: A cultural trap?

It has been argued that environmental management is in an administrative trap. Numerous factors leading to this trapped situation have already been identified in the literature: institutional rigidity, lack of co-ordination, formalization, non-accountability and political interference. This study focusses on the organizational, cultural dimension of the administrative trap and argues that in order to reform administrative structures, the organizational culture must also be reformed. On the basis of several face-to-face interviews with street-level environmental regulators in Hong Kong, the study claims that a role-oriented, hierarchical culture exists. While such an organizational culture is in perfect agreement with existing administrative arrangements, it may, in the end, hamper the effectiveness of environmental management.     

Depressive symptoms and perceived competence among Chinese secondary school students in Hong Kong

Depressive symptoms of 621 Grade 7 to Grade 12 secondary school students were assessed and described in terms of dimensions of disturbances in mood, self-image, behavior, hedonic capacity, and self-efficacy using the Childrens Depression Inventory (CDI). Using the cutoff score of 20, 24% of the adolescents would be in the depressed range. In a subsample of 319 students who also completed the Self-Perception Profile for Adolescents, depressive symptom levels tended to be highest among students who perceived themselves to be relatively incompetent academically and socially, and lowest among students who perceived themselves to be academically and socially competent, supporting the cumulative effects of perceived academic and social incompetence on depressive symptoms. The relatively more elevated CDI scores and subscores among Chinese adolescents compared with US adolescents and the choice of a cutoff score for screening in the Hong Kong school population are discussed.This study was supported in part by a Chinese University of Hong Kong RGC direct grant for research.
