两个女孩在路边打羽毛球，看上去很美；但如果两个女孩在路边摔跤，对面看过来的人一定会张大嘴巴。柔道，是一种近似摔跤的竞技体育项目，两人徒手赤足搏击，以摔倒对方或使对方背着地30秒为胜。自1983年刘永福组建起辽宁省女子柔道队后，一群无粉脂气的霸气女孩，就给世界体坛留下一连串金色的记忆。李忠云、庄晓岩、孙福明、袁华、杨秀丽分别在1988、1992、1996、2000、2008年夺得柔道奥运金牌。在刘永福眼里，奥运五环如同五只彩蛋，弟子们孵化成风的故事，让他感怀。     

公益诉讼社会功能论

公益诉讼的社会功能，决定了它能否成功实现制度的变迁、达致制度良好运作的总体成效。相较于以调整个人之间利害冲突为基本对象的传统民事诉讼，公益诉讼不仅具有纠纷解决、实体权利保护、不当行为纠正等基本的诉讼功能，而且基于其特有的目标、结构和运行机制，还具有形成社会公共政策、创设或扩展权利、制约公权以及促进社会变革这四大特殊功能。

权力技术与刑罚：福柯刑罚社会学研究

与以往刑罚社会学思想家不同的是,福柯并不关注刑罚的社会语境或道德基础,而是直接引领我们进入刑罚机制的内部运作,将焦点集中在实际的刑罚权力技术及其运作模式之上.这种"权力的微观物理学"集中体现在<规训与惩罚>一书之中.在福柯看来,权力运作于完全"物质化"的技术、机制和机构等重要层次上,因此只有对运作中的技术进行仔细考察才能获得最佳的理解.正是在这种视角之下,福柯最终对刑罚制度的核心内容发表了极具洞察力且发人深省的观点.但是,应当注意到福柯的观点也存在某些缺陷.

Reaching out to the people? Assessing the relationship between parliament and citizens in Finland

Despite the Open Government (Parliament) initiatives and notions of a ‘democratic parliament’, the relationship between legislatures and citizens remains seriously under-researched. This article introduces a comprehensive analytical framework, combining the normative principles of visibility, accessibility, and permeability with practical indicators (parliament as public space, sharing of information, contact with MPs, media and digital engagement, transparency of legislative process, and actual participation in legislative decision-making) for assessing the public engagement of parliaments. Applying this framework to the Finnish Eduskunta, the authors show that despite recent reforms that have partially ‘opened up’ parliamentary proceedings and attempted to connect citizens to democratic process, there remains scope for reforms and innovations. The Eduskunta should embrace a more positive approach towards new forms of civic participation, particularly regarding how its influential committees operate. The findings reflect the tensions between, or the difficulties in reconciling, traditional forms of representative democracy with alternative and more direct channels of political participation.     

Deaths in Unlicensed Alcohol Rehabilitation Facilities,

Non‐English‐speaking people do not always seek medical care through established institutions. This paper reports a series of deaths in unlicensed alcohol rehabilitation facilities serving Spanish‐speaking men. These facilities are informal groups of alcohol abusing men who live together. New members receive various treatments, including administration of ethanol or isopropanol, restraint, and seclusion. We reviewed 42 deaths in unlicensed alcohol rehabilitation facilities in Los Angeles County during the years 2003–2014. Data gathered included age, length of time spent in the facility, blood alcohol and drugs at autopsy, and cause and manner of death. Causes of death included acute alcohol poisoning, alcohol withdrawal, and a variety of other causes. Three cases were considered homicides from restraint asphyxia. The Department of Medical Examiner‐Coroner has worked with the police, district attorney, and State Department of Health Services to try to prevent additional deaths in unlicensed alcohol rehabilitation facilities. Nevertheless, prevention has been difficult.
