In our first issue, we included a comparative review that comparedhow the Prospectus Directive had been implemented in variousEuropean Economic Area (EEA) Member States. That Directive setsout the requirements for initial disclosure, through a prospectus,of the information an investor requires to make its initialinvestment decision, when transferable securities are offeredto the public or admitted to an EEA-regulated market. Some 18months later, we turn to the legislative companion piece—theTransparency Obligations Directive or Directive 2004/109/EC(known familiarly as the ‘TD’ or sometimes, butonly outside Germany, as ‘TOD’—in this articlethe abbreviation ‘TD’ will be used throughout). This is an important Directive that is designed to achieve anumber of objectives. First, it recognizes that markets depend on information. Itis not enough that issuers describe their business and financialposition to the market only when they ask for new money by issuingsecurities. . . . [Full Text of this Article]   1. Introduction2. Remote spectroscopic identification of bloodstains
Bremmer RH  Edelman G  Vegter TD  Bijvoets T  Aalders MC 《Journal of forensic sciences》2011,56(6):1471-1475
Blood detection and identification at crime scenes are crucial for harvesting forensic evidence. Unfortunately, most tests for the identification of blood are destructive and time consuming. We present a fast and nondestructive identification test for blood, using noncontact reflectance spectroscopy. We fitted reflectance spectra of 40 bloodstains and 35 nonbloodstains deposited on white cotton with spectroscopic features of the main compounds of blood. Each bloodstain was measured 30 times to account for aging effects. The outcome of the blood measurements was compared with the reflectance of blood-mimicking stains and various body fluids. We found that discrimination between blood and nonblood deposited on white cotton is possible with a specificity of 100% and a sensitivity of 98%. In conclusion, a goodness of fit between the sample's reflectance and the blood component fit may allow identification of blood at crime scenes by remote spectroscopy.  相似文献

Gender differences in cognitive and affective responses to sexual coercion
Byers ES  Glenn SA 《Journal of interpersonal violence》2012,27(5):827-845
This study examined gender differences in responses to sexual coercive experiences in mixed-sex (male-female) relationships. Participants were 112 women and 28 men who had experienced sexual coercion and completed measures of cognitive (attributions to self, attributions to the coercer, internal attributions) and affective (guilt, shame) self-blame, trauma symptoms, and upset at the time of the incident) with respect to their most serious or upsetting sexually coercive experience. The women were more upset than were the men at the time of the incident. Contrary to predictions, the men and women did not differ in the extent to which they attributed blame to themselves or the strength of their internal attributions, guilt, or shame. Both the men and women attributed more blame to the coercer than to themselves; however, the women attributed more blame to the coercer than did the men. The women reported more trauma symptoms than the men did which was related to the finding that more women than men had experienced sexual coercion involving physical force. These results are discussed in terms of the similarities and differences between men's and women's cognitive and affective responses to sexual coercion.  相似文献

Personality and repeated suicide attempts in dependent adolescents and young adults
Laget J  Plancherel B  Stéphan P  Bolognini M  Corcos M  Jeammet P  Halfon O 《危机》2006,27(4):164-171
This study compared personality characteristics of subjects with dependence disorders who had previously made a suicide attempt. The population, recruited in France, Belgium, and Switzerland, was composed of 570 subjects (225 females, 345 males, mean age = 27.3, SD = 8.5). The subjects' psychological dimensions were investigated by means of several self-report questionnaires including: BDI-13 (Beck), Sensation-Seeking Scale (Zuckerman), Toronto Alexithymia Scale (Taylor), Interpersonal Dependency Inventory (Hirschfeld), MMPI-2, and some additional scales. For most dimensions, repeat attempters, both past and recent, but more specifically the recent repeaters, had a more severe psychological profile compared to the other suicide attempters.  相似文献
