Comparison of a suspected biter's dental arches with the patterned injury of a bite mark is especially difficult when the bite occurs in an anatomic location with a small radius of curvature or with complex or compound curves. The authors present two case reports in which human skin was used as a template for the reproduction of a bite. In one case the victim's skin was used; in the other, the skin of a anatomically similar person was used. The use of inked dental casts, photography, and transparent overlays significantly reduced the errors common to analysis of bite marks in these highly curved areas. 相似文献

The Department of Defense has taken steps in recent years to improve outcomes for victims of domestic violence who reside on military installations. In 2000, the Defense Task Force on Domestic Violence was established, a military‐civilian group of experts charged with improving the military's effectiveness in addressing domestic violence in the Armed Forces in a variety of areas including offender accountability, coordination between military and civilian communities, and changing the military climate around domestic violence. The absence of a thoroughly developed, working class critique of criminological theory has resulted in bias in the creation
of knowledge regarding crime and deviance. Much as feminist writings illuminated the unique problems related to gender, and
works by those discussing racial and ethnic minorities highlighted the special concerns related to race and ethnicity, a working
class perspective can expose the particular issues having to do with class. A brief discussion will be presented dealing with
the portrayal of working class people in the media, and the complicity of academia in allowing working class stereotypes to
persist. A sketch of a working class perspective will then be developed, and it will be used to critique fourteen of the major
criminological theories today in terms of their relative sensitivities and considerations of the class factor in crime and
justice issues. The final section places each of the fourteen theories on a continuum from those that do not consider the
working class experience at all to those that give the working class experience full consideration.

The population-adjusted rate of teenage suicide in King County, Washington, was reviewed for the 26 years from 1959 to 1984. For the entire period, the rate did not change significantly. An abrupt change did occur during the middle of this period, but, for reasons discussed in the text, this may well represent a change in procedures and philosophy of death certification rather than a real change in rate. Although law enforcement agencies across the nation have assumed part of the responsibility in the fight against terrorism, significant confusion exists as to the role of local law enforcement. While some agencies have taken steps towards terrorism prevention, little data has been collected on which agencies have taken the greatest steps, how those agencies have changed, and how other agencies should direct their activity. This case study of law enforcement census data from a single state considered variations in terrorism preparedness and predictors of preparedness. Agency size, presence of funding, and other variables significantly predict levels of terrorism preparedness.
