Objective: To examine whether the love letters of erotomania, have potential to assist in the clinical process of assessment.
Method: A series of illustrative love letters from case examples were selected. The characteristics of the conditional variants were embedded into an adaptation of the technique of forensic psycholinguistic analysis, with a focus on discernible psychopathology, and the likely meaning for the individual.
Conclusion: In all cases, analysis of the erotomanic love letter showed clear potential to be a significant augmenter in the process of clinical assessment. They should, therefore, be retained, reproduced and valued, rather than overlooked or discarded. This paper outlines a suggested approach to make the most of this valuable data source, including a clinical template which may be of assistance to other clinicians. This paper also serves as a general reminder of the ongoing need to recognise verbatim as of high clinical currency in forensic psychiatry. 相似文献
Abstract: Of the 800,000 suicides worldwide every year, a small number fall under Emile Durkheim’s term of altruistic suicides. Study on martyrdom has been limited. There has to date, for example, been no systematic empirical study of martyr letters. We examined 33 letters of Korean self‐immolators, compared with 33 suicide notes of a matched sample of more common suicides. An analysis of intrapsychic factors (suicide as unbearable pain, psychopathology) and interpersonal factors (suicide as murderous impulses and need to escape) revealed that, although one can use the same psychological characteristics or dynamics to understand the deaths, the state of mind of martyrs is more extreme, such that the pain is reported to be even more unbearable. Yet, there are differences, such as there was no ambivalence in the altruistic notes. It is concluded that intrapsychic and interpersonal characteristics are central in understanding martyrs, probably equal to community or societal factors. More forensic study is, however, warranted. 相似文献
A petitioner participates in the administration of public affairs at his own discretion. A cooperative relationship exists
between the petitioner, petition letter, office visits and the related functional departments. Good governance is reflected
in petition system which is to set up a balance between public interests and citizens’ private rights. Institutional reform
regarding the petition letter and visit system should focus on the “settlement of issues”. The specific design of the petition
reform must comply with the requirements of good governance, balancing the rights and serving the interests of the parties
concerned. Only in this way, can we achieve cooperative and harmonious governance of the society and still allow for the involvement
of various forces in the society. The petition system plays an important role in promoting the cooperation and mutual assistance
of public power and private rights, executing two-way persuasions, improving error corrections and regulating the settlement
of disputes. 相似文献
