本文通过追溯与梳理中国女子职业教育历史,分析中国女子职业教育现状,以传承博大精深的中国文化,扬弃歧视女性的精神糟粕,提出或可将女校定位为＂三优四德＂特色培养,构建立体化、多维度的女子职业教育体系,培养优雅、知性的新时代女性人才。     

被拐卖妇女、儿童的承诺之效力探究——基于被害人承诺理论的展开

儿童对拐卖行为不具有理解能力,其承诺无效,基于其承诺所发生的拐卖行为具有违法性。对于妇女的承诺,其效力应分为不同的行为分别进行评价:基于妇女的承诺所发生的拐卖行为,由于不具有社会相当性,承诺无效,拐卖行为具有违法性,但可以作为酌定的从轻情节在量刑时予以考虑;基于妇女的承诺而发生的奸淫行为,可以阻却奸淫行为的违法性。

赛珍珠的中国题材小说《闺阁》以一幅中华民国年间吴府的世俗生活场景,通过活生生的食事活动向西方读者阐析了中国食文化深邃厚重的内蕴：崇尚礼乐,顺应自然,调和阴阳,谨和五味,饮食有节,食养食治等,折射出中华民族的传统伦理道德、风俗人情、审美心理、人生哲学以及生存理念,同时也客观地回应了西方人习来以久的东方食文化原始怪异的＂他者＂形象,从一个侧面反映了赛珍珠知性、负责任的跨文化阐析理念。

Sybil Campbell,first woman judge and supporter of higher education for women

ABSTRACT

Sybil Campbell was appointed a Metropolitan stipendiary magistrate in 1945, the first woman to become a full-time judge in the courts of England and Wales. She sat for 16 years, at Tower Bridge Magistrates’ Court, where she met with a great deal of opprobrium from the national and local press, trade unionists and individuals, much of it directed to the fact that she was a woman dispensing justice, with some severity, in a working-class community. She weathered the criticism with indifference and continued until her retirement, in 1961. Her pioneering example, however, did not encourage the appointment of other women to a judicial role until the appointment of Elizabeth Lane as a county court judge in 1962. This article examines her judicial career and her work for the British Federation of University Women, of which she was Honorary Secretary and its honorary vice-president.     

THOMAS AND LUCY ATKINSON: PIONEERING EXPLORERS OF THE STEPPE

Thomas and Lucy Atkinson were pioneering explorers of the Russian, Siberian and Central Asian Steppe in the 1850s. They both wrote books about their journeys which were feted in their own time, and in particular Lucy Atkinson was one of the first women to describe travels in this region in her 1863 work Recollections of Tartar Steppes and their Inhabitants. Thomas Atkinson was also an accomplished painter, and his sketches of the steppe were highly sought after in the period. However, these two trail-blazing explorers have been largely forgotten today. How do we explain this anomaly? Is there any reason we ought to know more about the Atkinsons? Why have they fallen from public view? Did they add to the knowledge of the physical world or to ethnography? This article will try to put their journeys and their achievements into some kind of context and, hopefully, make the case for a reassessment of their contribution to the history of exploration.     

Do female politicians empower women to vote or run for office? A regression discontinuity approach

Persistent gender gaps in political officeholding and mass political participation jeopardize women's equal representation in government. This paper brings new evidence to the longstanding hypotheses that the presence of additional female candidates and officeholders helps address these gaps by empowering other women to vote or run for office themselves. With a regression discontinuity approach and data on 3813 US state legislative elections where a woman opposed a man, I find that the election of additional women in competitive US state legislative elections has no discernible causal effects on other women's political participation at the mass or elite levels. These estimates are precise enough to rule out even substantively small effects. These results stand in stark contrast to a number of findings from India, suggesting that although electing the first women in a society can have these empowering effects, remaining barriers to women's inclusion in American democracy go beyond what further increases in female officeholding can themselves erode.     

Housing chronically homeless women: “Inside” a safe haven

Abstract

This case study of an innovative pilot project for chronically homeless, mentally ill women in Toronto exposes assumptions that professionals embarking on initiatives to house chronically homeless women may bring to the design of such facilities. The value of in‐depth ethnographic research in charting the effectiveness of initiatives to alleviate chronic homelessness for women and in understanding the barriers that hinder the development of effective programs is highlighted.

This article challenges conventional static understandings of the concepts of “private” and “public” and explores issues related to spatial privacy and communality, sense of ownership, ideas about the safe haven being both a home and a hostel, planning for flexibility, accountability to public flinders, and accommodation of individual needs.     

《消除对妇女一切形式歧视公约》在我国的实施及挑战

《消除对妇女一切形式歧视公约》是我国最早签署的由联合国大会通过的核心国际人权公约。1980年7月我国就签署了这一公约,《公约》于一年后的9月对我国正式生效。该公约在我国的生效时长已经超过了30年,对我国妇女保障体制的发展产生了很大的推动作用。但同时,《公约》的国内实施还面临着很多的挑战,这些困难和挑战在联合国妇女权利委员会定期审议的相关文件中可见一斑。     

The human right to marry: a refugee’s perspective

In the European Court of Human Rights cases of Muñoz Díaz v Spain in 2009 (Muñoz Díaz v Spain [2009], Application No. 49151/07) and Serife Yigit v Turkey in 2010 (Serife Yegit [2010], Application No. 3976/05), involving unregistered/informal ‘marriages’ of a Roma couple and a Muslim couple, respectively, the Grand Chamber took the position that civil marriages are available to all people in the state without distinction and therefore no breach of Article 12’s right to marry (nor Article 14’s prohibition of discrimination) had occurred when the respective states failed to recognise the informal marriages of the applicants. This article considers these two cases, and asks whether the court’s position is challenged by migrants/refugees, whose access to formal marriages maybe impeded due to a lack of identity and status documentation.
