Attitudes of the British Political Elite towards the Soviet Union

This article is an examination of the attitudes of the British political elite towards the Soviet Union and an assessment of the influence such attitudes had upon British foreign policy between March and August 1939. Through a detailed analysis of individuals including Cabinet ministers and those politicians elsewhere referred to as the 'anti-appeasers', the article contributes to the 'counterrevisionist' position concerning war origins. Thus it does not accept that the British government was constrained by factors outside of its control and instead argues that an Anglo-French-Soviet alliance was not concluded because of the failure of British ministers to put aside their anti-Soviet prejudices.

入世后,我国农产品市场份额锐减,相当数量的乡镇企业倒闭,大量农村人口迁移,西方文化进一步渗透到农村文化领域,将进一步加剧农村犯罪增长的压力。公安机关要增强政权意识,强化动态管理,坚持打防并举,改革派出所勤务制度,正确处理新时期农村社会人民内部矛盾,以促进我国农村社会的稳定。     

Reflecting on 'Linkage': Cognitive and Institutional Change in The International Trading System

Since the creation of the World Trade Organisation, the international trading system has lived through a decade of sustained and vocal public criticism. International trade lawyers have made significant efforts to engage, evaluate and respond to these critiques. This article assesses the adequacy of these responses, focusing on the so-called 'trade and' debate – or 'trade linkage' debate – in international trade law. While this debate has produced valuable insights, it tends to legitimate and reproduce precisely those aspects of the trade regime which it purports to contest. Drawing on the insights of economic history, an alternative mode of scholarship is proposed – at once historical, critical, constructivist and institutionalist – to augment the current literature in the 'trade and' debate. Concrete lines of enquiry are proposed which, if followed, would help international trade lawyers to respond more productively and with greater legitimacy to contemporary public critiques of the international trading order.

“汉”是中国历史上最具影响力的国号之一。自刘邦首用汉国号以后,出于寻求正统的心理、现实政治的考虑、文化取向的需要等复杂情形,汉国号为后世诸多汉族与非汉族建国者反复沿用,而中国古代家天下的政治特征,因此表露无遗。汉国号所具有的特殊象征意义,又使得“汉”成为域外有关中国的一种习惯称谓,并逐渐演化为此后直至现今中国主体民族的族称。     

Doctors and Nurses of Death: A Case Study of Eugenically Motivated Killing under the Nazi ‘Euthanasia’ Programme

This article reviews newly declassified US intelligence files and other sources, including relevant trial documents, related to the Nazi killing of mentally and physically sick individuals deemed to be of little further use to society. It both supplements and revises existing work on the so-called ‘Euthanasia’ programme at the Kaufbeuren psychiatric institution in Bavaria, and highlights a series of gender issues related to the involvement of women nurses including Catholic nuns, in this institute. In addition, this study not only casts new light on the way in which patients were, from admission onwards, redefined as disposable objects but also emphasises contradictions within the defence case of the defendants. 美国语言学家Krashen提出了关于第二语言习得的5个理论假设。这5个理论假设具有内在的逻辑层次,即以习得—学习假设为基础和前提,以输入假设为中心,以自然顺序假设为具体操作指导,以监控假设和情感过滤假设为辅助。它为对外汉语教学提供了可借鉴的理论基础和很多启发,如何更好地利用它为对外汉语教学服务,还需要对外汉语工作者在教学实践中进行摸索。

《孙子兵法》从战略的角度提出用“五事七计”来预测战争的胜负，其提出的“道”、“天”、“地”、“将”、“法”，对于警务实战具有重要的借鉴和指导作用，一方面可以发展和完善警务实战体系，另一方面可以提高民警的谋略意识，使警察在对敌斗争中能够更好地运用谋略克敌制胜。人民警察应加以重视、学习并灵活运用。
