Buddha Artist Li Zongyi

LI Zongyi's benign countenance indicates his affinity with Buddha, and the influence Buddhism has had on him since childhood. A native of Panjin City, Liaoning Province, Li attended the Shenyang Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, and after years of hard work has now attained the "nirvana of perfection."     

Yao Dixiong‘s Equine Passion

YAO Dixiong, world famous Chinese Australian painter, went to live in Australia with his parents in 1979. Twenty years of hard work have won him a place in international art circles, and the epithet, "Prince of Steeds."     

“Bottoms Up” to Tibet

IN the 1980s, a number of young inland dwellers took the long journey to Tibet to experience for themselves its mystic beauty. Many of these early adventurers were artists, musicians and writers. Authoress Ma Lihua lived in Lhasa for nearly 30 years. She says that at that time more artists and writers lived in Lhasa than in any other Chinese city. Artist Cao Yong, who now resides in the U.S., says, "Tibet is where my life force emerged - the place that showed me the true meaning of life."

爱德华·马奈（1832—1883）不是真正意义上的印象派画家，他从没有参加过印象派的画展，但他深受印象派画家崇敬，被誉为印象派的奠基人。马奈19岁时参加过法国革命暴动，他同情巴黎公社起义，还被选为公社艺术家联盟委员。当把全部渴望自由的热情转向艺术时，他在绘画中开辟了一个新的时代。这幅油画创作于马奈的晚年，他将古典的高贵气质和印象派华丽美艳的色彩交融在自己的画中，     

追求自由的寻梦者——记画家纪连彬

纪连彬,1960年生于哈尔滨市。曾为黑龙江画院副院长、国务院特殊津贴专家、黑龙江美协副主席、中国美术家协会会员、中华全国青联委员、上海中国画院特聘画师,现为文化部中国画研究院专职画家,国家一级美术师。作品曾获“全国庆祝建军60周年美展”金奖、“中国首届工笔山水画展”金叉奖、“全国首届山水画展”铜奖、“全国纪念九·一八60周年中国画展”银奖。1997年被中国文联评为“中国画坛百杰”。     

不为子孙谋家财

清代著名诗人、画家、书法家郑板桥,不仅能诗善画,而且教子有方.他在临终时,要吃儿子亲手做的馒头,儿子好不容易把馒头做熟了,郑板桥却咽了气.儿子跪哭时忽然发现茶几上有墨迹未干的纸条,上面写着:淌自己的汗,吃自己的饭,自己的事业自己干,靠天、靠人、靠祖宗,不算是好汉.儿子捧着纸条边读边哭,深深懂得父亲要他做馒头的真正用意.
