关键在坚持与时俱进

江泽民同志在“5·31”讲话中指出,贯彻“三个代表”要求,关键在坚持与时俱进。与时俱进就是要不断解放思想,实事求是,一切从实际出发,不断开拓创新。要求我们党必须适应时代的变化,始终保持旺盛的创新能力,才能立于不败之地。     

The effect of time served on recidivism: An interdisciplinary theory

The research reported in this paper is concerned with the functional relation between the probability that an individual offender will recidivate and the time that the offender has served in prison as a consequence of the offense. Theory suggests that time served affects recidivism through both specific deterrent and social bonding effects. The former is hypothesized to produce an inverse relation between recidivism and time served; the latter, a direct relation. The paper reviews the literature concerning these two theoretical relations. The review provides the basis for the establishment of a multiequation model whose principal result is to suggest that, more than likely, the recidivism/time served relation is a U-shaped function. The empirical model used to evaluate the hypothesis that the function is U-shaped uses the occurrence of a new arrest as its dependent variable. The model is estimated using OLS and LOGIT procedures. The data used for estimation relate to 1425 prisoners released from the North Carolina prison system in 1980. Recidivistic outcomes are measured at the end of the first and second years subsequent to their release. The research is unique in that it represents the first effort to synthesize the economist's specific deterrence model with the sociologist's social bonding model. The theory provides an explanation for the failure of past empirical work to establish a relation between time served and recidivism. The research is also unique in its a priori assumption of a U-shaped behavioral relation and its attempt to measure that particular relation. The data support the hypothesis that time served affects postprison recidivism rates and that the direction of the effect varies by offense class.

经济案件侦查是经济案件侦查学的一个基本概念 ,其概念包括五个方向的具体内容。本人不同意“经济犯罪案件侦查”的提法 ,其根据是刑法、刑事诉讼法等法律规定 ,及罪刑法定、疑罪从无、无罪推定等原则。经济案件侦查的提法是指所有触犯刑律案件侦查活动的一部分 ,而就经济案件而言 ,又可分为 :经济纠纷案件、经济行政违法案件和经济犯罪案件三种。     

终身体育的微观分析

终身体育是终身教育思想在体育教育上的具体延伸,是从人的生涯角度对体育问题的理性认识。在进一步深化高校体育改革的过程中,必须加强对终身体育理论与实践的研究,宣传终身体育思想,全面实施《全民健身计划纲要》。     

The estimation of the time of death by non-protein nitrogen (NPN) in cadaveric materials. Report 3: Multiple regression analysis of NPN values in human cadaveric materials

The non-protein nitrogen (NPN) values in brain, lung, liver, and kidney in 79 autopsy cases were determined according to the Micro-Kjeldahl Nessler method. Multiple regression analysis of the data was performed with every possible combination of the time of death and the NPN values in the tissues.The brain NPN showed the best correlation with the postmortem time (r = 0.673), whereas the other correlations were less satisfactory (lung r = 0.422, liver r = 0.397, and kidney r = 0.379, respectively). However, multiple combinations of each tissue NPN value proved to give better correlation coefficients and smaller errors of the estimated time of death.The practical significance of the tissue NPN as a postmortem biochemical indicator of the time of death and the multiple regression analysis of such indicators were extensively discussed in this report.

社会主义初级阶段是中国和平崛起的时间条件,经济全球化是中国和平崛起的空间条件,构成中国和平崛起的基本条件。清醒认识中国和平崛起的时空条件,可以避免“迅速崛起论”和“崛起悲观论”,明确树立“崛起阶段论”,坚定地走中国特色社会主义强国之路,具有重大的理论意义和实践价值。     

马克思主义与时俱进的内在逻辑

马克思主义内在的理论和实践逻辑决定了它能够与时俱进。在任何一个社会历史时间段和任何一个地域空间里 ,马克思主义都有特定的真理边界 ,时代变迁和应用地域转移会促使马克思主义改变自己的理论形式和部分内容以适应新的实践环境。马克思主义的发展由它的实践品质、批判品质和开放品质所推动 ,这些品质内在地驱使着马克思主义者不断进行理论创新。“三个有利于”是检验中国改革开放思想正确与否的标准 ,“三个代表”则为马克思主义与时俱进确立了科学标尺。
