Labour's Lost Youth: Young People and the Labour Party's Youth Sections

Falling levels of membership and activism are threatening the Labour Party's status as a mass party. This problem has to be seen in the context of growing disillusionment with formal politics in Britain, especially among young people. If Labour continues to fail in socialising future generations of members and activists into its mission, its fate will be sealed. This article examines Labour's relationship with young people, with particular attention to the organisation of the Party's youth sections. It utilises the results of original research into the attitudes of young members to diagnose the problem of young people in the Labour Party, and assesses the prospects of meaningful reform.

隔与不隔是王国维重要的美学概念,张爱玲则从京戏间离处理方法与技巧里提炼出洋人看京戏的小说审美理论。外行看热闹,洋人看京戏始终与京戏隔着一层,但他也自得其乐;内行看门道,行家看京戏与京戏不隔,他看到京戏唱念做打功夫及文化底蕴,心领神会。张爱玲认为艺术家要具备洋人看京戏与行家看京戏隔与不隔两种视角,既能站在生活之内看人生,也能站在生活之外看人间。通过隔与不隔,艺术家在世界、作品与读者之间建立一个适当的审美距离,便于读者思考人生与人性中的问题,从而达到一种间离审美效果。     

Penalizing women’s fear: intimate partner violence and parental alienation in Canadian child custody cases

ABSTRACT

This paper explores Canadian family law cases involving claims of parental alienation and of family violence from 2014–2018, reporting the data on these claims, their resolution, and their impacts upon custody and access. A close reading of those cases where both alienation and intimate partner violence claims are made reveals troubling patterns in how intimate partner violence is discounted in this context. We suggest that the rise of shared parenting as a dominant norm assists in understanding why alienation has achieved such unquestioned status, and call for greater focus on safety and women’s and children’s voices.

The Image of Fathers in Popular Adolescent Fiction

With the number of single parent homes on the increase, many children must derive their ideas of roles and responsibilities of fathers from secondary sources, especially books. The picture of fathers that emerges from popular adolescent novels is a disturbing one, with father being commonly portrayed as ineffectual, uncaring, or absent. Significant examples from currently popular books are discussed.     

人同人如何相异化--遵循马克思的思想脉络

因为人对自身的任何关系都通过人对他人的关系得到实现和表现,所以劳动异化能够过渡到人同人相异化、交往异化和社会联系异化。《手稿》异化劳动的前三个规定与第四个规定——“人同人相异化”,与《穆勒评注》中的交往异化和社会联系异化,都遵从同一个异化逻辑。异化的主体既可以是“孤立人”,也可以是两人或多人关系及其承载物。异化劳动和私有财产是阐释交往异化、社会联系异化的根源性概念。“社会联系异化”比“交往异化”能更准确地概括《穆勒评注》的主题。     

科技异化及其应对之策分析

当代科技的迅猛发展推动了整个社会的进步与发展。但与此同时,科技异化现象也凸显出来。科技异化有其深刻的根源,要想解决科技异化问题,需要树立生态科技观;加强科技主体的科技素养以及建立合理的制度规范和科技评价机制,走科技的可持续发展之路。
