Recreating the past in the ornamentation of stately homes and the leisure activities conducted within them: the Duchess of Parcent as a case study for the Spanish aristocracy in the early twentieth century

This paper attempts to vindicate the part played by certain Spanish aristocratic women in the management, conservation, and transmission of their artistic patrimony in the decades around the turn of the twentieth century by creating art collections and displaying them in their own homes. The works were exhibited in rooms that were decorated and furnished to suggest historical ambiences in which French trends rubbed shoulders with styles that had been developed in Spain throughout its history, turning their homes into devices that recreated past times. Similarly, retrospective views of Spanish art were the focus of leisure and entertainment activities driven by ladies from the upper echelons of society through the performance of tableaux vivants. The focus of this study will be Trinidad Scholtz Hermensdorff, Duchess of Parcent.     

Exhibiting the collections of the Spanish Crown and nobility for the nation: the Count of Valencia de Don Juan and the 1892 European historical exhibition

This article focuses on the place and role accorded to the collections of the Spanish Crown and nobility at the Exposición Histórico-Europea organized in Madrid in 1892. It sets the exhibition in the political and cultural context of the Fourth Centenary of the Discovery of America and analyses the role of Juan Crooke y Navarrot, the Count of Valencia de Don Juan to understand how royal and aristocratic collections were instrumentalized in a bid to assert the place of the Spanish monarchy on the European and international scene and strengthen its prestige. Commissioner of Crown property, the Count of Valencia de Don Juan was one of the members of the nobility who exhibited their collections to the public. Therefore, his investment in the organization of the exhibition, as a non-professional curator, helps understand what the event meant for Spanish nobility. This enables us to gauge what role such exhibiting played in the construction of the national heritage and art historiography of Spain.     

劳动给付不能时工资支付风险负担规则的反思 ——以新型冠状病毒肺炎疫情防控常态化为背景

疫情防控常态化背景下，企业可能会随时面临因防控措施导致的停工停产。这种劳动合同履行过程中既不可归责于劳动者也不可归责于企业的劳动给付不能，构成劳动合同的履行不能。研究认为，依据传统私法和劳动法的规则和理念，企业相较于劳动者具有较强的风险承担能力，应当承担继续支付工资的风险。但从宏观经济发展的角度来看，对于停工停产的企业来说，持续支付工资无疑是雪上加霜。全球疫情防控背景下，大部分国家通过社会保险制度的功能来分担企业的风险，通过社会保险补足劳动者的物质需求以达到保障就业的最终目的。研究的结论如下：我国应反思劳动法在应对疫情时的制度短板，在疫情防控常态化的背景之下，从劳资协商、劳动关系履行和稳岗就业三个层面来应对疫情带来的持续危机。

COVID-19 Has Exposed How ‘The Other Half’ (Still) Lives

Socioeconomic factors are heavily shaping the COVID-19 pandemic in South America. Consequently, societies are now facing the stark effects of lockdown, while largely failing to stop the epidemic. In Chile, this has been amplified by decision-makers who have overlooked critical socio-spatial aspects of the epidemic. Precarious living conditions, together with spatial segregation and unstable domestic economies, help explain why mitigation strategies remain unsuccessful. The article also explores how political frameworks for approaching these issues may change because of the pandemic.     

新型冠状病毒肺炎疫情下养老机构面临的挑战 —— 基于14个省份的调查分析

2019年底开始扩散的新型冠状病毒肺炎疫情,对中国公共卫生的防治提出严峻挑战。随着防控范围的扩大和防控力度的不断加强,封闭式管理的养老机构也面临更大的困境和挑战。作为老人坚实后盾和防疫屏障的养老机构也需要更多的社会支持。为了解疫情下养老机构运营困难及应对措施,对全国14个省份29家养老机构进行了问卷调查和电话访谈。在此基础上,参考欧美国家养老机构防治传染病暴发的措施,针对我国疫情下养老机构的问题,提出切实可行的政策建议。     

重大突发公共卫生事件应对中的大学生思想政治教育问题探析

加强大学生思想政治教育是高校应对重大突发公共卫生事件的重要环节、重要手段和重要任务。重大突发公共卫生事件为开展大学生思想政治教育提供教育契机与教育素材。文章以新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎疫情为例,从重大突发公共卫生事件与大学生思想政治教育的关联分析入手,重点阐述重大突发公共卫生事件中的大学生思想政治教育的作用与意义、重点内容与方法路径选择问题。     

The Italian State,its Regions and the Virus

Italian politics has always been characterised by deep regional divides. While the north and centre are well integrated into the European economy, southern regions struggle to keep up their productivity and employment levels. Although this divide has a long history, the Covid-19 crisis is set to worsen the inequality separating the two parts of the country. This article looks at how the coronavirus pandemic immediately assumed a regional dimension, which was reflected not only in the geography of the contagion, but also in how the central state struggled to manage the contrasting demands coming from northern and southern regions. Although the north has been the epicentre of the health crisis, the south is set to pay the highest economic and social price for the lockdown measures. The conclusion suggests that, while the Covid crisis has confirmed the salience of regional divides for Italian politics, it might also strengthen autonomist forces.     

Developmental validation of the AmpFℓSTR® Identifiler® Plus PCR Amplification Kit: an established multiplex assay with improved performance

Abstract: Analysis of length polymorphism at short tandem repeat (STR) loci utilizing multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) remains the primary method for genotyping forensic samples. The AmpF?STR^® Identifiler^® Plus PCR Amplification Kit is an improved version of the AmpF?STR^® Identifiler^® PCR Amplification Kit and amplifies the core CODIS loci: D3S1358, D5S818, D7S820, D8S1179, D13S317, D16S539, D18S51, D21S11, CSF1PO, FGA, TH01, TPOX, and vWA. Additional loci amplified in the multiplex reaction are the sex‐determinant, amelogenin, and two internationally accepted loci, D2S1338 and D19S433. While the primer sequences and dye configurations were unchanged, the AmpF?STR^® Identifiler^® Plus PCR Amplification Kit features an enhanced buffer formulation and an optimized PCR cycling protocol that increases sensitivity, provides better tolerance to PCR inhibitors, and improves performance on mixture samples. The AmpF?STR^® Identifiler^® Plus PCR Amplification Kit has been validated according to the FBI/National Standards and Scientific Working Group on DNA Analysis Methods (SWGDAM) guidelines. The validation results support the use of the AmpF?STR^® Identifiler^® Plus PCR Amplification Kit for human identity and parentage testing.
