Therapist characteristics in the treatment of sexual offenders: Tentative data on their relationship with indices of behaviour change

The present study examined the relationship between reliably identified therapist characteristics and treatment-induced changes in sexual offender treatment programmes in English prisons. The results indicated that 10 therapist features predicted beneficial changes in coping skills, perspective-taking, and relationship difficulties. A confrontational style, on the other hand, was negatively related to increased competence in coping. The results are discussed in terms of their research and clinical implications.

制度创新有其必然性。西方技术理性的片面化发展,使社会政治制度也陷于标准化的技术理性控制之下,最终表现为制度创新与技术理性标准化的冲突,并导致组织冲突的形成与发展。而组织冲突的消解将最终依赖于制度创新,实现制度创新则应该以所有制关系变革为前提。

本文通过对东亚区域1985-2004年贸易数据的研究发现:过去20年来,东亚区域内贸易快速增长,而区域外贸易及对美国的贸易比重已低于区域内贸易;同时,东亚区域内贸易的结构、流向、模式和相互关系都发生了相应的变化.

建立公正合理的国际政治经济新秩序是新世纪中国外交的奋斗目标之一。文章就有关建立国际新秩序的若干理论和实践问题提出了见解,文章强调建立国际新秩序必须把握好理想与现实、有所为有所不为、全局与局部等几项原则,立足当前,从实际出发,分阶段、分步骤推进这一目标的实现。     

社会转型期的发展中社区类型探析——以西双版纳傣族村为例

发展中社区是传统社区向现代社区转变时期的一级社区类别,其中的农村社区向城市转化过程有不同的表现状态,具体类别有城市化转变型和城市化发生型。城市化转变型是村民完成了身份转变,社区职业分化缓慢,保留少量农业;城市化发生型是农村社区发生非农职业,一些农民脱离农业从事新职业,新职业是城镇化的发展因子。     

Transparency in multilateral climate politics: Furthering (or distracting from) accountability?

This article analyzes the interplay between transparency and accountability in multilateral climate politics. The 2015 Paris Agreement calls for a “pledge‐and‐review” approach to collective climate action with an “enhanced transparency framework” as a key pillar of the Agreement. By making visible who is doing what, transparency is widely assumed to be vital to holding countries to account and building trust. We explore whether transparency is generating such effects in this context, by developing and applying an analytical framework to examine the link between transparency and accountability. We find that the scope and practices of climate transparency reflect (rather than necessarily reduce) broader conflicts over who should be held to account to whom and about what, with regard to responsibility and burden sharing for ambitious climate action. We conclude that the relationship between transparency and accountability is less straightforward than assumed, and that the transformative promise of transparency needs to be reconsidered in this light.     

浅析沙特阿拉伯在国际气候变化谈判中的立场与策略

在应对气候变化的谈判中,作为世界上最大的产油国,沙特阿拉伯的立场十分引人注目。应对气候变化的措施对石油生产构成了制约,对沙特的经济发展也产生了负面影响。基于此,沙特确定了它在应对气候变化国际谈判中的基本立场。但由于自身的影响难以左右谈判的发展方向,因此该国时常采用同步前进、反复宣传负面影响、推迟谈判、对程序性规则作出自己的解释等杯葛策略,来表达和维护自己在气候谈判中的利益和诉求。

各具特色而又富有活力的区域制度变迁多元化趋势,是中国转型取得初步成功的一个重要原因,也是目前日渐为世界认同的"中国经验"的一个重要组成部分,值得认真研究。一个大国的转型,即便有政治集权和政府主导的前提,只要选择了开放式的"干中学"路径,有一个相对开放、民主的制度环境和比较充分的激励,各地区对制度变迁发展机会和空间的选择必然是多元化的。     

Advance Refusals of Life-Sustaining Medical Treatment: The Relativity of an Absolute Right

English law gives the competent patient a right to refuse life-saving treatment, either contemporaneously or in an advance directive. This means that the patient's autonomous choice that in an anticipated situation his/her interests are better served by rejecting life-saving treatment needs to be respected. However, this right is undermined in practice by the courts' approach of applying a presumption in favour of preserving the patient's life whenever the validity and applicability of an advance directive is questioned. The article argues that the patient's right to refuse life-saving treatment only receives the respect it deserves if the decision whether or not a valid and applicable advance directive exists in a given case is instead be approached in an unbiased, disinterested way, and it analyses how this can be achieved in different scenarios.
