The Application of Voltammetric Analysis of Δ9‐THC for the Reduction of False Positive Results in the Analysis of Suspected Marijuana Plant Matter

The development of methodologies using inexpensive, fast, and reliable instrumention is desirable in illicit drug analysis. The purpose of this study was based on cyclic voltammetry technique to differentiate the electrochemical behavior of ?⁹‐THC, the psychoactive substance in marijuana, and five different extract plants to yield false positive results after analysis protocol for cannabinoids using thin‐layer chromatography and Fast Blue B salt. After applying a deposition potential of ?0.5 V in a glassy carbon working electrode, the results indicated an anodic peak current at 0.0 V versus Ag/AgCl after addition of ?⁹‐THC solution in the electrochemical cell, and limits of detection and quantification were 1.0 ng mL^?1 and 3.5 ng mL^?1, respectively. Other interfering plants showed distinct amperometric responses. This methodology was useful to detect ?⁹‐THC even in the presence of the Fast Blue B salt, which avoided false positive results for all the studied extract plants.     

Beyond FATA: Exploring the Punjabi Militant Threat to Pakistan

Pakistan has a long history of patronizing militant proxies, and in recent years it has become a victim as well as a supporter of terrorism. The evolution of the jihadist insurgency in Pakistan's Federally-Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and neighboring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pashtun militants leading it, efforts to counter the insurgency, and the overall strategic threats to the state have merited significant study. With some notable exceptions, less attention has been paid to the role Punjabi militant organizations and their splinters have played in bringing the insurgency to Pakistan's heartland. The involvement of these actors in the revolutionary jihad against the state gives the FATA-based actors leading this insurgency power projection capabilities throughout the country. This article helps to fill that knowledge gap by bringing a more detailed level of analysis to the understanding of how anti-state Punjabi militant networks function at the macro-, meso-, and micro-levels. In doing so, it illustrates that the introduction of new loci of jihad at the macro-level, simultaneous integration and atomization among militant groups at the meso-level, and greater portability of fighters at the micro-level impedes covert control by Pakistani intelligence services and decreases the utility of even sincere counterterrorism efforts by the Pakistani state.

QSZ92式9毫米手枪和勃朗宁9毫米手枪是发射同一种枪弹的两种枪支,文章通过实验观察这两种枪支射击弹头上的进膛痕迹、拔弹痕迹、坡膛痕迹和线膛痕迹的形态特征,统计分析了痕迹出现的位置和长度及宽度,对这两种枪支的射击弹头痕迹作了比较研究。     

“Night fell on a different world”: experiencing,constructing and remembering 9/11

This article explores the endurance of the pervasive framing of “9/11” as a moment of temporal rupture within the United States. It argues that this has persisted despite the existence of plausible competitor narratives for two reasons: first, because it resonated with public experiences of the events predating this construction’s discursive sedimentation and; second, because of its vigorous defence by successive US administrations. In making these arguments this article seeks to extend relevant contemporary research in three ways: first, by reflecting on new empirical material drawn from the Library of Congress Witness and Response Collection, thus offering additional insight into public understandings of 11 September 2011 in the immediacy of the events; second, by drawing on insights from social memory studies to explore the persistence of specific constructions of 9/11 and; third, by outlining the importance of categories of experience and endurance for constructivist international relations more broadly.     

猪链球菌2型三种重组表达蛋白对BALB/c小鼠的免疫保护性评价

将150只BALB/c小鼠随机分成5组。用猪链球菌2型pET32a-Sly、pET32a-38ku和pET32a-Sly-38ku表达的重组蛋白制备的疫苗,以及猪链球菌2型全菌灭活疫苗分别免疫A、B、C、D组小鼠,E组为生理盐水对照。首免后第2周加强免疫1次,二免后第2周,用致死量强毒猪链球菌2型四川分离株和江苏分离株以及马链球菌兽疫亚种安徽分离株攻毒,观察攻毒后对小鼠的免疫保护率。结果,A组与C、D组对猪链球菌2型感染的保护率差异显著(P<0.05),而C组与D组之间保护率无显著差异;A、B、C、D组之间对马链球菌兽疫亚种安徽分离株感染的保护率差异不显著;各免疫组的保护率极显著高于对照组。结果表明,3种重组疫苗具有良好的免疫原性,能对强毒株猪链球菌2型的攻击感染起到保护作用。     

数据挖掘在未成年人犯罪行为分析中的应用

随着我国经济的发展,未成年人犯罪行为却有增无减,并出现了新的特征和趋势.采用数据挖掘技术对未成年犯罪人员数据进行处理,采用C4.5决策树分类算法进行尝试性的数据挖掘,从中发现未成年人犯罪的特点、原因等方面潜在的规则,就可以据此提出一些预防未成年人犯罪的对策.     

Erhaltungsarbeit als ordentliche Verwaltungsmaßnahme für die WE-Liegenschaft nach § 28 Abs 1 Z 1 WEG 2002 unter dem Gesichtspunkt "wirtschaftlicher Wiederherstellbarkeit" – Erlöschen des WE infolge Sachuntergangs?

Nach § 30 Abs 1 Z 1 iVm § 28 Abs 1 Z 1 WEG 2002 samt dem verwiesenen § 3 MRG ist der einzelne Wohnungseigentümer berechtigt, von den übrigen die Wiederherstellung des besch?digten oder zerst?rten WE-Objekts (hier: in einem einsturzgef?hrdeten, baupolizeilich gesperrten Geb?udetrakt, der einen ernsten Schaden des Hauses erlitten hat) als grunds?tzlich ordentliche Verwaltungsma?nahme zu begehren, wenn der Wert der gesamten WE-Liegenschaft diese Erhaltungsarbeit im Verh?ltnis zu den Kosten der Wiederherstellung wirtschaftlich vertretbar erscheinen l?sst. Nur eine dauernde rechtlich oder tats?chlich unm?gliche Wiederherstellung l?sst das WE am zerst?rten WE-Objekt unter den Voraussetzungen des § 35 WEG 2002 erl?schen. Die Notwendigkeit, ernste Sch?den des Hauses im WE-Objekt zu beheben, relativiert den Kostenfaktor der ordentlichen Verwaltungsma?nahme auch in Hinblick auf § 3 Abs 3 Z 2 lit b MRG. Die "wirtschaftliche Wiederherstellbarkeit" entscheidet darüber, ob eine Erhaltungsma?nahme iSd § 28 Abs 1 Z 1 iVm § 3 MRG als ordentliche Verwaltungsagende oder als au?erordentliche nach § 29 WEG 2002 vorliegt. Hiebei kommt es auch auf die Bewahrung des Hausbestands an. Zum Unterschied zwischen der ordentlichen Verwaltung/Erhaltung nach § 28 Abs 1 Z 1 WEG 2002 und nach § 833 ABGB. Im Fall des rechtlichen (oder tats?chlichen) WE-Untergangs müssen die Wohnungseigentümer der unbenützbar gewordenen WE-Objekte abgefunden werden, was – wie die Abbruchkosten – in die Wirtschaftlichkeitsprüfung einzubeziehen ist.     

A 26plex Autosomal STR Assay to Aid Human Identity Testing*†

Abstract: A short tandem repeat multiplex assay has been successfully developed with 25 autosomal loci plus the sex‐typing locus amelogenin for a total of 26 amplified products in a single reaction. Primers for the loci were designed so that all of the amplicons present were distributed from 65 base pairs (bp) to less than 400 bp within a five‐dye chemistry design with the fifth dye reserved for the sizing standard. A multiplex design strategy was developed to overcome challenges encountered in creating this assay. The limits of the multiplex were tested, resulting in the successful amplification of a wide range of genomic DNA sample concentrations from 2 ng to as low as 100 pg with 30 cycles of PCR. The 26plex has the potential to benefit the forensic community for reference sample testing and complex relationship evaluation.
