还原沈家本:略论沈家本与晚清司法场域之变迁(1901-1911年)

沈家本是清末修律改革中的核心人物之一 ,但以往的研究受研究方法的局限 ,将沈家本描述成一个孤独的司法英雄和法学天才 ,显然 ,这与清末法制变革的历史真实相去甚远 ,也不符合沈家本的真实面目。运用法国社会学家布迪厄的场域理论 ,通过分析清末国家元场域与司法场域及法学场域等场域间的关系 ,从中揭示沈家本在清末修律活动中的地位和作用及晚清司法场域变迁的逻辑 ,还沈家本以本来面目。     

对“一田二主”土地制度的思考

“一田二主”是由我国古代的永佃权制度演化而来的一种土地所有权制度，具有经营模式的灵活多样性、利益均衡性、土地权属结构调整的市场化等特征。在我国实行“一田二主”制度，有利于农业现代化的实现，有利于维护农民的根本利益、体现社会主义公有制的优越性、实现社会基本公平，有利于农业的企业化经营和市场化运作，有利于农村民主制度和各项文化事业的发展，有利于农村生态环境的改善。     

How voter mobilization from short text messages travels within households and families: Evidence from two nationwide field experiments

Through two large GOTV field experiments in two different elections, we investigate the spillover effect to other household members and family members outside the household. We mobilized young voters with cell phone text messages, a campaign tactic unlikely to be observed by other persons than the treated. The direct effect varied but approximately 30 percent spilled over to other persons in the household, even parents. The effects are subtle and we cannot with certainty establish that a spillover effect exists. However, we demonstrate, using Bayesian updating, that even an initial skeptic becomes close to convinced that the effect spills over. Our study provides evidence by suggesting that young individuals’ decision to vote affect other household members, including their parents, to do the same. When young voters live without their parents, we find no evidence of spillovers to parents, suggesting that households are more important than families ties for turnout contagion.

司法场域的实证分析——以邱兴华案为对象

邱兴华案留下来的不应该仅仅是某个“片段”或某个“层次”的意义，如程序正义，它具有“场”的意义。本文运用布迪厄的场域理论分析了邱兴华案在司法场域是如何展开的及其出现的偏离，并顺便论及了与司法场域参与者有关的几个问题，如“法律人可能的贡献”、“法院改革司法”等。     

What is the impact of bilingual communication to mobilize Latinos? Exploratory evidence from experiments in New Jersey,North Carolina,and Virginia

Should materials aimed at increasing Latino voter turnout be in English or bilingual? Credible, theoretical arguments can be made both ways: bilingual materials may be more effective if signaling cultural awareness or less effective if seen as pandering. We tested these competing hypotheses with two rounds of randomized field experiments in New Jersey and Virginia in 2015, and North Carolina in 2016. While some GOTV experiments have used bilingual mailers, previous scholarship has not tested whether bilingual mailers are more effective than English-language materials. In the 2015 elections, both treatments increased turnout, and the monolingual English version was more effective at increasing turnout than the bilingual version. These results are replicated in the high salience 2016 election in North Carolina. These results indicate that further research is needed about bilingual communication across political and demographic contexts and about how household composition may condition the effects of bilingual communication.     

Chinese Political Studies: Overview of the State of the Field

The range of questions of interest to scholars of Chinese politics has changed slowly over recent decades, but the depth of empirical probes to answer them has quickly improved. One reason is the rise of China-born and Chinese-American researchers. Another is greater access to local information in China after the start of reforms there. Future developments in this field are likely to enrich current American political science, which will require fresh methods for adequate study of the planet's most populous polity.
